The cabinets that I have are all 20 3/4" X 33 1/4" (see my photo album)
Every machine I have ever owned, Vintage or Modern fits. BUT, that leaves a gap (1/8" - 1/4" top and side) on almost every machine too.

I found this neat little program on line. It can give you all your cut sizes and drawings on cabinets. I think with it I could take your pachinko machines measurements and cut a custom cabinet kit in no time, or have a set of plans printed to make a cabinet. Still using the free trial on it, but if all works out, I will be buying it. Here the cabinet I been working on with it.

What program is that? It seems similar to google sketchup but seems like it lets you do way more and make things look way nicer.

    100 machines and counting...

I'm a complete newbie looking for a cabinet. I stumbled across your post for a double cabinet and really liked it. This one also looks great. I am torn between painting and staining - your double cabinet appeared to have a dark red stain (cherry?) - looked great - otherwise i'd be inclined to paint it to match the wall (which would make the cabinet less of a focal point).
I really like the "key obviator" you built for this one - great idea and I haven't seen it before in my trolling.
One question - I don't see a way to close the feed tube at the top - if you open the cabinet won't balls go flying all over? I've seen some simple shutters that I think might be beneficial - while at it - what about a shutter that automatically closes when the cabinet is opened? some sort of lever below the PVC pipe (that would need support at the bottom as well) - and when the cabinet opens it slides over the PVC opening, when cabinet closed it then opens? Just my .02. Great job, and I look forward to your availabilty and pricing on the kit...

I have looking in to a trap door for the feed tube, but 95% of the time I only need to open the cabinet to change the machine. I just use the ball dump on the machine to drain out the balls from the ball tray in the cabinet, so I didn't think one would be needed.

thanks for the reply - being a complete newbie, i completely forgot about the ball dump pin-hole. still, i think the trap door would be a nifty feature for those of us (okay, me) who forget about the ball dump...and then have the balls dumped on our floors!
