Default How to connect battle counter (Nikkei Apia)

I just got these Nikkei Apia battle counters in (pics attached)...I have a few questions:

    1) The yellow and red wires are power wires, right? Do I need to cut the plug off and strip the wire ends to that I can tie them in to the 24V side of the transformer wiring?

    2) For the connections to the machine, I have the maps, but I just unplug those extra tails off the connector, then attach the connectors to the right ports on the machine, right?

I don't want to start cutting wires until I know 100%.

I see what those tails are for now. On the CR Macross Fever machine, there are no plugs for the connectors, only clamps for the individual wires. So the only way to hook those up is with the tails. Thankfully they included them.

I am waiting on a battle counter to arrive for my JAWS machine. I would love to see how yours turns out and any problems you come across in hooking it up.

Well, right now it looks like I'm going to have to cut the power cords to the machine, and then use new wire nuts to tie the battle counter power lines into the machine and transformer lines. (pic attached) Any advice on what to do here? I've got one person who says just cut the lines, re-strip them, then tie them all together with new wire nuts.

It sounds like the right approach to me. However, I have not hooked one of these up before and wouldn't want to steer you wrong. Hopefully someone will be along soon who has hooked one up and can give us both some advice.

You will not know if its set up correctly till you get a fever But at least you will see the start pocket counter going up. When you hit fever the thing will really light up, then should continue through the high probablity stage, Also then the start poscket counter should reset back to zero

I ran into a bit of trouble with the BTTF machine. The 24V leads are too short to reach the power wires to the machine. Any suggestions? Do I just get a length of insulated electrical line, and then patch in the extra length? Also, these connections don't seem to be fitting right. (see pic)

My enthusiasm was short-lived, but at least I've got one that powers on. I'll keep testing it to see what happens when I get fever. (I've never gotten a fever on the Macross machine)

Thanks for clearing that up. Which one would work with the 2008 Sammy Back To The Future machine? I don't see Sammy on the image.

Hard to say, but they look like the small ones used on the sankyo, I'll have a look at mine later

CardShark, For your Jaws machine, you are going to need a special connector for the Big Bang frame. They are hard to come by.

BigBearSteve was very helpful with this and says he has already installed the connector. He has the same battle counter hooked to his JAWS machine. I am hoping it works.

That's great. I have been looking for two of those connectors for a while with no luck. I wanted them for my Jaws and Ultraman pachinko's!

You might want to check with him to find out where he gets his connectors. I will certainly post about how well it hooks up when it arrives. Should be early this week.

Nope they aren't the same as Sankyo, More like the ones on Mizuho.

Also the link I put, The seller says they do connectors for the stadium and Big Bang frame .
