    Default Removing Sticker Residue

What is the best product to remove sticker residue? I take off the large stickers on my pachislos right above the stop buttons and between the Max Bet and Coin Deposit. This stickers they put on are super heavy duty and I rip them off and use Goof-Off to remove what is left over. Was wondering if there was something better that does not smell as bad as the goof-off.

I think it is called goo-be-gone? Anyway, you are right, it is good stuff and it smells pretty cool as well.

But how does drinking Everclear remove the sticky residue?

Check my member page here or...

Temporarily, go to youtube.com and search for BudgeRahe for videos. Until I get the links set up in the museum

Lemon Extract works real good for some types of glue (and also good for removing magic marker writing on things) I learned this years ago for removing price stickers and ink stamp prices while working in a grocery store. The extract worked better than anything else and smells good too!!

You know the answer already... it doesn't remove the residue, you just don't care anymore.

I have a related question. What is the best way to remove the glue from the reels, when replacing the reel strips on a custom? I've tried Goo-Gone, but it still requires a lot of elbow grease.

Easily the best way to do it is with some goo gone or your favorite residue remover and a sharp razor blade. Works great for windows with paint on them as well. At least its has worked for me anyway.

For stickers try using a heat gun, most of the glue will come off with the sticker. Use caution not to get the area too hot, if you do not have a heat gun use a good hair blow dryer. You will be suprise how easy the stickers comes off with a little dry heat. Follow up with items listed by others to remove any small amounts of glue left.

Polish remover contains acetone and works fine on unpainted metal and glass. But, use it on most plastics, any painted surfaces, etc. it might ruin them. Be very careful using this solvent.

Wow, this board likes harsh chemicals...

To remove sticker residue without harming the plastic on ANY object...

    Use another sticker, or tape.

Roll the tape with the sticky side out, around your finger to make a loop. "O" (Sticky side out)

Now just touch it to the residue, and lift, touch and lift...

NOTE: You get better results sometimes if you lift up and pull to the side slightly.

This will remove sticker/tape residue, chunks, food, dust, glue, sugar, beer...

This will not harm plastic, but will will lift paper from other stickers. Avoid doing this directly ontop of a sticker you want to keep on the machine. (Like there is any you want.)

Stay away from chemicals, they will...

Yellow your clear plastic, destroy and crack stickers and vinyl, cause chrome to flake off plastic, crack non lexan plastic, blister some plastics, dull glossy surfaces, soften plastic parts, etc...

LaughingJim, your way works well with most things, it work good.

But these stickers are using a vinyl glue and it is a bitty to remove, I have tried all of these listed, and yours. The best has been soft heat than ever clear and it is totally gone. Granted I am in a hurry doing 10 or 20 machines in a row.

If one has time or only one the finger nail works good too.

These stickers were made to take abuse from people during play and that is why they are in such good shape when we get them.

Wow, I am surprised that it couldn't remove vinyl glue. Are you sure that it was not epoxy?

Epoxy is not sticker gunk, (so to speak), but is used to adhere foil to plastic. (Epoxy is a chemically reactive plastic, Chemi-set... as opposed to Heat-set (PVC))

I am glad that the heat worked. I am stumped... (LOL)
