    unusual machine.. the bottom tray is blocked off and does not appear to have a way for balls to dump??

    at first looks i thought its a converted single shot.. but now i dont think so..

    unusual brand of machine...

    i dont exactly see broken stuff.. there is a cover missing off the back.. and the strange lack of access to the bottom tray..

    whats the starting price?? (cant get to ebay from work)

    Very odd machine.

    Sankyo Asuka. The first version before the 209 version. I have never seen one like this.

    Very odd how the lower tray is blocked off. I guess it only pays out to the top tray. Or someone lost a lot of parts and made that to cover the empty hole. I would be interested just to take a look at and play this machine.

    Though it is way overpriced. I would pay very tops $50. (But I wouldn't really like to spend over $40)

    100 machines and counting...

    Is a pretty old machine. It uses wingnuts to hold the front to the frame. It is missing the ball dump channel that directs the balls around the jackpot to top tray path. Can be fabricated, but don't activate ball dump without it! It may have been a single ball conversion...but back parts would have been converted to direct balls to top tray, which would explain the missing parts on the back to the bottom tray. Is a front overflow, which is the only way for balls to get to lower tray, no provision for balls to automatically overflow to bottom tray automatically when top tray is full. Missing upper track cover on back, some loose staples at top of back...probably for all that loose wiring. Has a window to hold jackpot reserve balls for when seesaw is in down position, but no reset lever on front, not missing, just never had one that I can tell. The blockoff plate to the lower tray is part of the aluminum panel with the Asuka nameplate, and surrounds the flipper. Very unusual machine, I would like to have it, if he would take $60-$75 tops. But a wooden crate to ship is overkill! If he built the crate for free, I don't think he could ship it anywhere for $95...much less from San Diego, Ca to Dayton, Ohio. Nice machine, in spite of it's shortcomings!

    I sent a lower offer, and asked if he could pack it lighter to save on shipping. No response at all.

    I'd like to have the machine but it is way to high priced. Would have to be around $30 and I might get it. The drive out there is long though. At $30 it would sorta cover gas.

    Seller emailed me again. I hoped it was to try to woo me with a lower price, not so. Since I was the only one to contact him, he was just touching base since I never responded. Gave his # so I called. He is as politically conservative as I, and we had a nice conversation...but he wants $95 + shipping. He states that he can ship in a wood crate for $65, the balance is for materials and his time. All good, but I can't afford $200 for another toy! If I could get it shipped for less, I wouldn't even balk too much at $95. More than I want to pay...but a very unusual machine. Too bad he lives in California...and I live in Ohio! If anybody lives close and can ship for less (including a cut for your gas and time), shoot me a PM. I hate to let it get away...but I'm afraid that is how it is gonna be.

    I would love to get this machine, but I am sure the shipping would be even worse to Virginia. If I could get it for under $125 shipped, I think I would have to jump on this one.

    @pachiwall,

    Do you know which part of San Diego he lives in? Some areas you just don't want to go to.

    Never bothered to ask, Google maps showed you to be a good 3 hour round trip...so I ruled that option out. Seller has no love for eBay (go figure!), as he has had problems with buyers who complain that things weren't described accurately...and shipping damage. He refuses to use UPS. I hear they are the worst! Says USPS is the most expensive. I understand his desire to crate it...it just costs so much! He won't ship it any other way. Looks like $95 plus whatever my cheapest shipping would be, if I have it picked up. Still close to $200, no matter how I look at it.

    You can send it UPS with no problem. I send all my machines that way. I sent a model B to florida recently. Cost $70 from here to there. Buyer saw no damage to the machine when it arrived. Though the key is knowing how to box them. Most people don't understand the beatting the box will take.

    Seller sent me an email. He is moving out of California and either has to move the machine...or ship it. He has decided that he will ship it in cardboard for $120, machine and shipping. I told him I'll take it. I sent some packing tips. He says send a check and he will ship when it clears. I don't have checks anymore, so I suggested a certified check or Post Office check. RISKY...I know. Maybe he didn't suggest PayPal to avoid eBay fees...but he sent the message through "My eBay, messages". I have his # still, so I'll call him when I get off work on Monday. We will see what happens!
