Lose the attitude about reality. Don't take it personally, but our hobby just doesn't bring the high prices anymore. I have sold 3 Julies and the average price was $ 200- $ 250. People just don't have the money for luxeries and expensive hobbies. I have over $ 25,000 at retail for all of my 65 games including 7 pinball, 2 cranes, a Seeburg juke box, slots, 3 Arcade consoles, Pachislos and Pachinkos. My cost is over $ 15,000. I was offered $ 10,000 for the whole lot 6 months ago and I wish that I had taken the offer. Anyone with cash is looking for rock bottom bargains if they are even looking at this point. But anyway, good luck with your sale. If you get a buyer with any cash don't let him walk away empty handed.

Thanks Frank, I'll keep that in mind. I still disagree with you about the price.
I'd keep it forever before I'd sell it for $250.
I've taken a huge beating selling things as it is.
I wonder how the importers are going to do tho.
This will affect them quite a bit if they can't sell anything unless it's cheap.
Either way Pachinko will likely be something we won't be doing much of any more.
Except for the machines we own.

i don't know that pachinko, pinball, or any other hobby is something we won't be doing anymore. times are tough but it's not the first time things have been bad and there will always be people who can afford whatever they want. maybe as a result of less discretionary income prices will come down and hopefully importers can still turn a profit.

Times are tough, maybe the worst many of us have seen in our lifetimes. However, times have been worse and people will adapt and eventually we will make it through this. Even with money being tight, I do not see it changing what my interests and hobbies are. Just because right now it does not make good financial sense for me to buy up every machine I come across, I am sure I will still be adding to my collection. Maybe it will just make me a little more selective and careful about what machines I add. Not neccesarily a bad thing. My heart goes out to anyone who has to sell off portions of their collection in order to make ends meet. Taking care of my family will always come before my hobbies. I know things will get better, I just don't think there is any way it will happen over-night. It took a lot of events over a lot of years to put us in the situation we are in now. I just pray that when things improve we have learned something from our mistakes and move forward in a more responsible direction.

I think you need to understand when I say "we" I am in this instance, referring to my wife and myself. Not We in the collective pachitalk sense.
Lots of people have been hit hard, some harder than others.
For us (my wife and I) it's time to scale back on many things until things improve.

If you are getting good offers take it steve ,go for it.These machines are used and can go bad all of a sudden.Who knows what's coming in the future.Put the needs first in these times, the wants can come later.I am right there with you in these times.I have sold alot of things I didn't think I could. After a while you realise they are just things that can and will be replaced when the time is right.

Thanks yose, my wife really wants to keep the Julie and I am trying my best to
do that. I think if we sold the Julie we would probably not be involved with
pachinko any longer. At least not for a long time.

We'll just have to see. i sold some other things today so that helps.

as with anything when you have to sell keep what you truly love
and you can replace the rest

So true, and it's not something that can be replaced.

We will probably know by this weekend whether or not we have to sell the Julie.

My wife had a great gym downstairs, now it's pretty much an empty room except
for the power rack which I am still trying to sell.

I've taken a bath on everything I've sold. I would prefer to sell the Julie to a Pachitalk
member, if I have to sell it, but I need to get the most I can and the 2-3,000
balls it would come with aren't cheap either.

We sold our car before we thought of selling the Julie.

too bad you dont live around the Washington DC area, or else you could work with us selling pachis!!
As for the Julie, better to just keep it, it just not a good time to sell.

I just spoke with my wife and it sure looks like we are going to have to sell it.
I have to figure out how many balls it has but my wife thinks about 3,000 balls.
I'll probably put it up for $800 for everything.

I'd love to work for you guys, If I didn't have to take care of an elderly relative
all the time I'd be down there posthaste.

Sadly for us, at least for a while, Pachinko isn't something we are going to be able to do.

I'm going to try and call you tomorrow.

Dont worry about it Steve, just take care of yourself and I will make sure that the machines be trained to say papa whenever they see a picture of you.
No but seriously though, you will always have time in the future for pachis.

    So any luck selling it?

I picked up a Julie, Star Wars, and Indiana Jones back a few years direct from Arby for something like $800 for all of them (one Lumina frame, and the 3 cells). No doubt that a pachinko from Arby was considered as good of a product as you could get. Just curious about the sale. I just finally played my Julie last night after it being packed up for over 1 year, and not played for about a year before that due to working 2 hours away from where I was living (economy sucks). What fun!

Yes it did sell thankfully. I am not on the forum much because we have to move very soon and still haven't
    found a place.
The Julie was a lot of fun. I know the guy who has it is having a great time playing it.

I don't really follow pachinko, but in my opinion, the pachislo hobby is pretty much dead. Stealth, Direct Gaming International, Trademark Commerce, Gaku, SamuraiSlot, Pachisloworld, etc...all of the decent sized vendors seem to have come and gone...even BlueHotaru has nothing for sale. I doubt there is a single "new" (relatively speaking) pachislo for sale on ebay right now. When I first joined this site, the number of pachislo posts far outnumbered the pachinko posts, but since no one is buying or selling pachislo any more, the model talk posts are few and far between.

We still deal in pachislo machines, but the ratio is definitely skewed more towards pachinkos. We just put up a few new machines and will be adding a bunch more in the next two weeks.
