Broken Super Black Jack

I've just recently caught the pachislo bug and I already have nine machines. So far I've been very lucky in having machines shipped to me but today I received my first machine that was damaged in shipping. Sadly, I bought it from an individual and not from a dealer so I have very little recourse but to try to fix it. The top lens was broken and it broke several LEDs. I was able to replace the LEDs so now all the electronics on the machine are working properly. But there is a fair amount of cosmetic damage that can only be fixed by replacement parts. The belly glass, bezel and other graphics are in great condition. However, several pieces are broken: the top lens; the chromed holder for the lens; the chromed speaker grill holder, the chromed left side door panel; the horizontal chromed piece that holds the buttons. The ball on the play lever is also scuffed up very bady and needs to be replaced.

I'm hoping that it is possible to get replacement parts but I have no clue who to ask or where to buy them. Are the parts on my Super Black Jack interchangable with parts from other NET machines? If so which machines?

I'm hoping someone here has some suggestions.

The parts would be interchangable with other 2003 Net model machines. Since you bought this from an individual, did this individual bother to insure it? Was it badly packaged?

You could try contacting Milt at Stealth Home Amusement or Eric at Grandview or some of the other vendors who's links you'll find in our link section.

No he didn't insure it and it was very badly packaged: two boxes taped togther to get the height with a thin piece of foam wrapped arround the machine. No "fragile" or "this end up" written on the box. It appears the box was dropped on the front since the lever poked through the box and appears to have been dragged across a hundred miles of pavement and the top of the box was dented in breaking the top lens and other pieces. Needless to say, I'm less than happy with the packaging.

If you paid this guy with a credit card through paypal, you can still dispute the charges if it's within 30 days. I would do anything I could to get the money back from this guy. Then let him pay for a call-tag if he wants the damaged machine back.

I think you are correct. But they won't pay if they find that the damage was due to inadequate packing.

That's absolutely correct which JUSTIFIES having a dispute for your payment by credit card or paypal payment and getting payment refunded. It is the sellers responsibility to properly package your purchase. Failure to package it right is not the buyers fault and buyer should not have to pay for a damaged item in such a case.

slarrg, if you end up needing parts get in touch with at-slots here on the forum. I have been trying to get a part for a machine and tried a couple of different people, then read a thread about someone visiting him and that he had quite a lot of parts available, sent him a private message and he responded quickly. He asked me to call him and I talked to him today. Great news is he has the part I need and I am going to get a machine back running that has not been working for about 6 months!
