Default Vintage like Reproduction of sorts,...

ok,... I'm not very versed in the world of Pachinko,... I have nothing pachinko,... except an Idea

Idea: "make my own Pachinko machine"

sounds weird I know... but it's there and I can't get it out...

    ok,... so now what,...

    I draw up a plan,...

using a free drafting software I am able to start to layout the board.(or is it called a cell,... so much to learn)

    Attachment 54833

using a free 3d modeling software I can create some of the parts I need in 3d
    PachinkoSpinnerModel.jpg

from there I can bring them over to a different way of manufacturing...

    3d Printing

ah,.. you say cost is to ridiculous to have a custom 3d printed part,... Well look at Ponoko.com

Here is the price they gave me for a single spinner.
    pachispinner.stl
    Durable plastic
    Making: $3.22
    Material: $0.47
    Total: $3.69

so,... I can get a spinner for about $4 US,... cool,...(not counting shipping)

Well that's where I'm at so far.

    what still needed? a lot,...

-I need to find a way to figure out the Tulips functionality and how to get them to be printed.
-what type of main attraction that looks cool and integrates the power of a somewhat modern,... classic look,..
-Layout the back plate to be laser cut out of acrylic (or wood,... or both with laser etched graphics)
-layout the metal rails to be cut from stainless plate.
-find some brass nails,... I don't think it would be good to "make" nails,...
    -bumpers,...
-how to create the play lever design (I can get 3d printed metal)
-the whole,... back,... you know,... workings,... seesaw,... chutes,... triggers,... trips,... payouts,... etc.
    -cabinet
    -bins
    -base
-then all the bells and whistles,... (Ponoko.com sells those too!)

    well,... wish me luck,...

Similar to your direction, I'm also interested in printing pachinko parts but more for replacements. I'll also be using my printer to prototype custom brackets, etc. for a pachinko ball lifter. The attached image is my bootstrap, which is very close to completion.

If I were to make a DIY pachinko machine it would be a combination of mechanical and electrical, with solonoids operating the tulips controlled by logic, so game play would be endlessly customizable.

I have been working on a design for a custom machine myself. I doubt seriously it would ever come to fruition but it is fun to design. My plan would be to incorporate some of the features from an Arrangeball. I am thinking of a way to have a clear plexi playing field. Behind the plexi would be a lcd monitor that encompases the entire playfield. All of the features, playfield, and sound would be pc driven. This way through software only the customization options would be huge. The monitor could display any type of stationary background or animated. It could display a grid in the center like an arrangeball or anything I can dream up. The idea would be to have one machine that could play a variety of game styles. Right now this is just a pile of sketches but who knows if I ever have some free time (doubtful) I may try to put something together.

3D printing is the way to go

I have access to 2 different types myself. Though I have yet to play around with them. Maybe I'll get around to doing it when I really need a part.

Good luck on your machine build.

    100 machines and counting...

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I'll definitely keep you all posted. I don't think I'm going to get digital with the design just yet. I want to prof my idea with a working machine before getting "bells and whistles".

ok,... of to the drawing boards!
