Default Help identify this machine and is it worth it?

I'm looking at this machine on craigslist: http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/tag/2955400472.html The front looks like it's from a Nishijin "A" but the back looks like it's from a "B". I haven't seen any pictures l that looks like this. Is this a single ball?

    Is it worth it?

    Thanks,

    Alan

The picture in the ad for the back of the machine definitely belongs to another machine. I would contact the seller and ask for more pictures. Also, $120 seems quite high for a machine of that vintage, IMHO. I personally would expect to pay half of that, assuming all of the parts are there and the cell is in good condition.

    I agree with Jeff

The picture of the back is from a different machine.

That machine (from the front) should be 1964 Nishijin Single Shot.

I too wouldn't pay $120. The most I would pay would be around $50. But at that price it should be 100% complete. You should ask for some pictures of the back. You can post them here and we will tell you if the machine is complete.

    Any questions just ask.

I can't imagine the back belonging to the same machine. If it did...and looked factory, then the $120 MIGHT be worth it. If the back is in fact on the same machine as shown...was NOT factory, but NICELY DONE, and worked correctly, then the persons time and creativity might be taken into consideration. It's true value would suffer though, like having a Hemi Cuda, with a small block Chevy in it.

If you look at the location of the jackpot payout tray on the front (bottom of machine) and compare it to the location of the jackpot payout chute on the picture of the back (about 3" up), there is no way it could be the same machine.

I think the seller was just taking pictures of machines and then uploaded the wrong one. The same seller is also selling a Daiichi machine. http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/clt/2954522670.html

Plus Jeff really hit the nail on the head. There is no way the back could line up the same for the lower tray.

I saw the other ad and didn't put two and two together. Must be Friday. I've inquired about the single-shot. I would like to have one of those.

Hmm... That would make 4 machines for me. 1 is dismantled and undergoing cleaning and 2 waiting.

There will be even more. Trust me.

Everyone should have at least 1 single shot in their vintage collection.

That is the truth. I'm also looking at a modern one and I haven't even got my first one going.

That machine appears to me to be a 1967 or a 1968. I agree, the back does not match up.

I ended up buying the single ball for $80. I did buy another (Nishijin "A") from the same guy for $20 so I feel pretty good about the average of $50.00. The Daiichi is currently promised to someone else.

He originally paid $450 for all three.
