    Default New to the site.

Hey new to the site I have a machine that has been in the family since my grandpa and grandma brought it back from okinawa, japan when they lived there. I found out it's a 1965 but I was hoping someone could tell me more information about it. Thanks. Sorry the pictures aren't the greatest.

    Welcome to Pachitalk!

Nice looking machine you have. Better pictures would help, however I am sure someone will be along soon with more information for you.

Glad you found your way here, I was just getting ready to reply to you and send you here. Definitely a 1965 Nishijin singleshot recycler. That one is going to be lots of fun

    Yes, welcome to PachiTalk!

Thanks for posting your machine. Are you interested in leaving it untouched, to make it work the best it can and/or rebuild it?

Well it works pretty good already but I wanna make it work the best I can. I have been cleaning it for the last couple of days. It has been sitting in a shed the last 15 years or so and only major thing wrong with it is the lights not working, and i'm pretty sure all the parts are there just wanna get everything going and working properly. And are these machines suppose to be standing completely vertical or slanted a little bit.

most of us think machines slanted back jsut a bit 2 or 3 degrees

Nice looking machine you got there.

It actually varies a bit. They weren't completely straight. Definitely tilted back. The minimum is about 2 degrees. The most I think is about 7 degrees. It varies on the machine a bit.

For example, I just finished a machine. One tulip was giving me a few issues. Turns out it was because the machine was perfectly straight up and down. So I put some thicker felt pads on the bottom of the feet and it tilted it enough that now it works fine.

Your 1965 Nishijin should be 3%, and the base of the machine should already be designed to provide that 3% angle by default, unless someone has padded the bottom.

Yep. The bases are already slanted. If you want to put feet on it just make sure they are flat along the top and bottom, or else that slant is gone.

The only reason why I had an issue with the other one was because I put a new base on it. (old one was rotted and falling apart)

My Dad's Narita wasn't playing right last year, but we figured out his floor wasn't level where he had it. Shimmed one side under the foot and it played great!
