I here its so crowed in Japan that they sleep in shifts and it s so crowed that 2 people play pichinko ,one to load balls and one to flip them

jlist.com sends out a newsletter every couple of days with interesting facts about japan and their (american) owner's experiences living there. Some wierd stuff that stands out in my mind:

Nobody buys an old house to live in it, a lived in house is considered worthless and is only demolished by the new owners.

At the end of the year, all their roads are totally screwed because the local and federal governments must spend the remaining money in their road budget, on construction projects.

Street signs are rare, numbers are rare, directions are more like we'd say "take a left at the mcdonalds, a right at the sushi place with the blue frog..." It's super easy to get lost.

I'm sure there's more but I'm all jaded now. Wakarimaska?
