Volume? you mean as in sounds coming out of the speaker. if that is the case you have a modern machine. So this thread does you no good.

im assuming your refering to a Mordern machine.. each machine is a bit different.. posting a pic of your machine front and back will help us, help you with the location...
understand that most volume controls are poor at best.. instaling aftermarket volume controles would be your best bet..

Even the lowest volume setting on my machines was way too loud. There might be a nicer way of doing the same thing... but I always add some series resistors on one of the speaker wires going to each speaker. Your average speaker is 8 ohms so that's the ballpark for the resistance you should add. You need to be a little careful about the wattage. The speakers are probably operating in the 5W range. Your average 1/4 W resistor would probably go up in smoke. You can get a larger wattage resistor, or, what I do is take a handful of 100 Ohm resistors (like 10 of them,) twist them together on the ends and add one of these to one of your speaker wires going to each speaker. You can get resistors cheaply online.
