Post RED ALERT - Vintage Fuji CHALLENGE BALL pachinko and tokens

1 day to go - be quick!

    http://www.jauce.com/view2.php?setur...ion/h162137748

Quick potted translation of the Seller's text :

昭和40年代? (This machine is dated about Showa 40, or 1965)

(the machine measures 81cm tall, 52cm wide and 22cms deep, and weighs approx 13kgs)

(this is a 'Challenge Ball' machine - and the Seller asks rhetorically, "this is different to an Arrangeball how"?)

(the 'shoushi', or maker stamp, I can't find on this machine, but I'm guessing it is Showa 40, or 1965. Doubtful is is later than 1972.)

(I make no guarantees that the balls will fire, that medals will pay out, nor the lamps will display correctly).

Interesting but I think I will pass on this one. I am going to focus on my Satoi restoration and see how it goes.

It does look cool. I think I am also reluctant as I have never tried to purchase from YJA.

Cool machine in good shape and looks clean. Interesting with the 9 number matrix as opposed to the normal 16. Plenty of ways to win and this looks to be the oldest arrange ball I've seen. Not interesting enough for me to bid. Don't think anyone here will either with that BIN but if no one bids then maybe the price will come down some. With the BIN it's going to cost about a grand with all fees.
Odd that there's no graphics on the cel.

Oldest arrange ball I've seen going by the seller's earliest date IF thats accurate but I don't think it is. I'd say mid 70's maybe.

Well, there might be a good reason for that... The seller notes the playfield appears to have been scratched clean!

(The cell has been through some violent distress/damage. It appears the entire graphics have been peeled off)

Perhaps that's why the price is so low to start with.

I think emmadog is probably right with a 70's age

I have a 1973 Fuji Arrangeball, (round 16 matrix) (also listed as 1973 on the Fuji site)

It has all the 'ice-cube' relays in the back, pity there isn't a pic of that area on this one for sale, it might help with the 'dating'??

and such a shame that the cell art is missing, but I suppose these don't appear that often for sale, and I'm guessing even more rare in Japan??

It looks to be the same age as my fuji. The six little what look like cat heads on the bottom pay one token. It pays on the horizontal, diagonal, and vertical. Hanabi has one with the relays but mine does not. Mine has the same insides as shown. Tis a shame that the cell art is gone. Probably could find something to replace it. Looking at the payouts which pay for four red or four white it reminds me of My Tic Tac Toe machine. When you see the pictures of mine it does not have the red buttons on the upper left of the playfield.

Here are a couple of pictures I have with me. Looks quite similar. The one on YJA might be a little newer. Quite a different lot of payouts if you look at the matrix.

Forgot you had that one LT. That was from eBay if I remember correctly and has a great looking cel. Looks like the Taiyo mascot. Speaking of pics, any chance you can put your arrange ball pics back up on the strange ball owners group? It would make it more complete as a resource.
