    Question Another Nishijin y&O 15&5

    Hi,

I am new to the site. I just picked up a Nishijin Y&O 15&5 and know nothing about it. It works fine, except for the digital counter. Every Y&O I have seen for sale has that same counter non-operational so I assume this was for the parlor operations.
I understand how the shooter adjustments work and I have figured out the lights the indicate the built up spins.
It pays 5 balls for when you get a ball in any of the payout pockets. Please correct my terminology.
It has yet to actually match all three numbers on the display.

I am hoping the group here can answer some question I have about it.
    1. Beyond the shooter adjustments, is there anything else I can adjust on it such as adds or payouts?
    2. It is called a 5&15. Why?
    3. If all three numbers line up the same, what happens?
    4. This one has a plastic window but there is a second slot. Should there be a glass window as well?
    5. What year(s) were these machine produced
    6. I paid $135.00 USD. Was that a fair price?
Any other information on this would be appreciated!

I am also into pinball and EM arcade games. If you want to see what I have, you can check out my YouTube channel. No vid of the pachinko yet... http://www.youtube.com/user/101Osprey101?feature=mhee

    WELCOME!!!

Lets see what I can answer.. The display and buttons on the front are for parlor use to show credits and dispense balls..one of our members, Daverob has created a dongle that can make them work again..While not needed for home use, it is an awesome thing..

    1. Payouts and such can't be changed on pachinko machines, the most you can do is adjust nails to make it easier for balls to get into pockets..

    2. Those are the payouts for the machine..5 for pockets and 15 for the bonus door..some machines may have more than 2 numbers there like 3 10 15..that would mean 3 for the start pocket, 10 for other pockets and 15 for the bonus door..someone may know the name of this machine, but a lot of times its printed on the back in Japanese..If you post back pictures we may be able to figure it out..

    3. Then you get a bonus or 'fever' round..lights and music..and the door on the bottom will open..get as many balls in there as you can for big payouts..

    4. In the parlors there would have been 2 pieces of glass..Its up to you if you want to use 1 or 2, glass or plexi..some people like the sound of glass some like the safety of plexi especially with kids around..some use glass on the inside and plexi on the outside..its up to you..

    5. Someone else may know, but I'd say in the 90s sometime..I have 2 Nishijins in Y&O frames one is from '93 and one is from 2000..Machines can stay in parlors up to 3 years..

    6. That seems a good price for a working modern from that time..its even better if it came with balls!!

Hope some of that info was helpful..

WOW! You guys rock! Thanks for the all the response.

This is a fun machine. And my first pachinko.
I am very happy with it but it would be nice if it were a little "looser" on the odds of the the numbers matching.
We have played the crap out of it, and it has yet to hit fever round.
People must go broke playing these in the parlors.

Thanks for the welcome and all the information.
I just sold a very rare pinball machine to a guy in Italy. I had to get caught up on rent after my wife was off work for six months for cancer surgery. But I had a little cash left over so had to get something. So I added another pin and then found this little gem.
I paid $135.00 and it came with 500+ balls.
I am surprised at how "mind-numbingly", entertaining it is. lol
But I find it completely stupid that the losses don't funnel into the pay-out hopper. I imagine this is due to the way it operates in a parlor setting.
Anyhow, fun machine and what an awesome group here. So many quick responses!
I hang out on the vpforums.org website and chat and thought pinball guys were nuts. You guys are just as bad!

Thanks again. I know nothing about pachinko really so any info is new info for me.
