Default Can you define Rust Balls, please?

I know there is a lot of talk about rusty balls stopping the machine. I have never had a problem with the balls I use. But, most of them do have a very tiny amount around the lettering. So, when does it become a problem? And when should I not use them?

That's strange, John. I've got around 5000 balls, some of them from my vintage machine are 30 years old, and none, nada, zilch, of them have any rust on them, even around the lettering.

When the balls get rust on them, does it come out when you clean them with CLR or one of Arby's cleaning mechanisms, or is it just easier to throw away the rusty ones and be done with them?

As I don't own a Pachinko yet, I don't know much about this topic, so I am asking so I have a better understanding before I dive into the wild deep blue yonder!

for light rust CLR or abby's tumbler would do the job,

if you find any very rusty ones don't use them,

i usually watch the feed tray while playing and if i see one that doesn't look good i pull it out.

The rust will get inti the eltronic switches where the balls come thru.

I do have one ball & token tumbler left, $47.50 ship to your door.

That's the advantage of living in the mid-west. You have no humidity to speak of. Here on the east coast everything rusts! You should see the old BMW that my son and I are restoring. After living on the east coast the car has become a Flintstone car (yes, you can actually put your feet on the ground while stiing in the front seat)! On the plus side, we do have the Chesapeake Bay (steamed crabs, rockfish, etc.). YUM! I guess you just gotta take the good with the bad wherever you are.

    Arby,

I found a 3 pound older model Rolling Star rock tumbler at Goodwill today for 5.99.

It has 2 long rollers on the bottom to turn the drum.

It made a racket when i plugged it in, but after I cleaned and lubed it that all cleared up.

The side of the barrel was cracked, but I superguled it together. I hope it will hold.

A one pound coffee can fits right in there, do you think its a good idea to try cleaning balls and tokens in it.

rubber line it so the balls don't tear up in it.

Talking Re: Can you define Rust Balls, please?

I just got my 2K balls from SlotUSA today.
One bag was fine. The other bag was so filthy & rusty that you couldnt see through the plastic!
Now, what am I supposed to do with those?
I sent Joe an email & am waiting to hear back.

Smile Re: Can you define Rust Balls, please?

soak them in hot water and either dawn or CLR, swirl them around for a few mins. then rinse in real hot water and dry by putting them in a terrycloth towel and rolling them around. i usually spread them out somewhere to finish drying.

pick out any balls that still don't look good.

or with a rock tumbler just put them in with crushed walnut shells for a few hours.
