* TURN POWER OFF
* INSERT RESET KEY TURN TO THE RIGHT
* TURN POWER ON
* AWAIT LED DISPLAY ON FRONT DOOR
* DEPRESS JOYSTICK FOR 5 SEC & RELEASE
* RETURN RESET KEY TO LEFT & REMOVE

Yes I did. My stupid butt was skipping the depressing the joystick procedure. My thinking was that since I was resetting the skill level, I didn't need to press the joystick. The funny thing too, was after getting it outta reset, I left tghe power on and turned the key. It went into reset, and I was able to change some menu options. I then pressed the joystick and it saved the settings and came outta reset. Why did I not have to power off?

I think if you power off before you turn the reset key back to the left you lose the settings. Just follow instructions. Also like Tulsa said "just leave the key in" that is what everybody does. At least that is what I do.
