Default My $15.00 fixer upper Sankyo

My $15.00 fixer upper Sankyo.I don’t know what the theme name is or the year mid 70s? . but it has flower on it so I’m guessing it is flowers . the ball hopper is cracked and dented this machine took some hard hits. it is missing the most common part the lower ball track cover . no big deal I can make that part .And there a good gouge on the fame. but for the most part. it works just need to be cleaned and adjusted. lots of FUN

Nice, looks like a cool project! I'm, thinking 1975-1976 maybe? Can anyone verify? I know the 1974 still used an aluminum loader tray.

I am thinking 77ish, 75 and 76 have a trim on the lower front tray that if you squint sorta looks like butterfly wings and the ball out lens has a matching dummy lens on the right side. But yes, in that era for sure.

Mine is a 75 and the back looks exactly like mine the front does too except for the play field (mines a frog). That sticker on the front in the lower right corner will tell you the year. Looks like a nice project. Have fun.

I have one like that myself. (different CF and some other things but from the same year) If I recall it should be from 75.

Nice find. Glad you didn't pay $75 for that

you may be correct. I'm just trying to recall the tag on mine. But if there are 2 different frame styles they are only 1 year apart. (which i think you are correct)

mxfaiman. It is a 1974. The 50 is the year. Something to do with the Japanese Calendar and the year 1925. 1925+50=1975 They had to take it out of the parlor in 1975 which means it was made in 1974. They could only be in the parlor for 12 months back then. I think the 12 would be December.

there is also thought that some machines could have been left in play for 18 months.. do you have an documation saying only 12 months max??

the second number is always 3, 6, 9 or 12 so we assume it is the month the machine expires

Thank you for posting that information. Though I am very well aware on how to figure out the date. Some members just wanted to learn the date of the machine member Forex posted so I posted the tag off mine that was built in the same year.

It is very hard to really tell what those numbers mean. I could have sworn that through all the machines I have seen I saw one that had an 18 on it. So how do you explain that month? (unfortunately I forget what machine I saw it on so I have no proof at the moment)

if one had an 18 (or 15) then that would blow the theory but I am holding to month until someone posts a pic of one with a number over 12 (not saying you are wrong but I have never seen one) or can say for sure what it is for.

I feel the same way... At least I am great at identifying Nishijin models as I now have at least one from each year 1970-1977.
Part of what I love about this hobby is there is so much history to learn.

So tell me... was it more fun taking it apart, cleaning it and then trying to figure out how it went back together, or do you have more fun playing it?
