    Great!

Looks like the machine is in service mode. Beeps in every contact you make. You can test coin mech and buttons but nothing happens (so any test coins do not affect the memory). Maybe there is still one door or cash box switch stuck open or closed or bad connection. Old slots usually go to service mode when the door is opened. You may need to push some service button or do contact inside (like dip switch or similar contact).

Thanks for comments. Knowing that there is a service mode is good info. My first plan was to put the switch on the back in the other position. It was wailing before, but maybe there's a reset button I missed. Could hitting correct front buttons reset it? Will check Monday. I'm out of town for salinas work.

well. I tried that switch in back in both positions and nothing changes. At least now it plays without wailing, but the front displays do not update...

oh, I shocked myself on one of the fluorescent fixtures too... now I see why "some" of the bulb ends are covered with plastic... I was reaching around to see if there was a switch for "door open"

I have to really have a few hours to trace down the wires, but any other ideas what to do next? I wonder if there is a bad plug that goes to the front credit display and fruit lights... the input switches work... the speaker sounds off spins and wins...

also, I found hopper mechanisms for sale, so eventually I'll put one of those in, assuming I can get the spins to show up...

    Default interesting findings

so I took the slot to my friend in Garden Valley, my electronics guru, and it seems there maybe something actually wrong on the board. we confirmed all the switches work, but the fruits weren't right...

we opened up the fruit projectors, and they are 12 bulb mini projectors that are supposed to just light up one fruit at a time. the output right now is several lights, explaining why I thought I saw a pineapple and cherry or watermelon at the same time. apparently these were the way you got digital displays in the old days, using numbers instead of fruits at the different holes.

anyhow, the computer central chip seems to be working, and Takashi was showing me how to trace back to where the problem might be... way beyond my knowledge, but I am learning. still have not found a service manual or circuit diagram, but I did find out this company was in Madrid, Spain and also made some pinball machines.

if anyone has connections to slot machine repair people in Madrid, let me know!

below are the fruit projectors, lights at the end of a spin, and a shot of lots of transistors - one per bulb to light up the output of the 74 series latching chip.

Cool machine. Now I do not know anything about this machine at all but projectors I do know a lot about.

Does this projector use a film strip disk or slide?

Does the film slide or strip move?

My thinking here is if it is a still **** and each lamp should turn on or off to light a photo it is a board.

but if it is a moving slide or film strip loop could be a bad motor?

Also have you check each lamp in the projector unit to make sure it is good and working?

Also check the workings of the projector itself being the mirrors and so on.

Hey there. Thx for ideas, but each bulb projects thru a different hole, so it is only supposed to light one bulb at a time to chose a fruit. I'm working on where the problem is on the circuit, since all the bulbs are lighting at once.

hey. you guys still here? it's been ages.

I have, however, almost finished remodeling upstairs where the PACHINKOS will finally have a home.

I can't wait to read what you guys have been up to. I'm sure that people are 3D printing and programming their own pachi's by now!

    missed you all!

p.s. my Skilstop "spins" but doesn't reset the lights. don't know how I'll figure that one out.
