Default New to me vintage Sankyo

I was able to get this one over the weekend for what I thought was a pretty good deal. Dirty, but she seemed to clean up pretty nice and runs like a champ!

I'm more of a modern collector, so if anyone has anything to add, let me know.photo(16).JPGphoto(13).JPGphoto(14).JPGphoto(15).JPG

    Nice machine!!

I have a Nishijin B with that same center feature.

There is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

Do you want to get the lights working? Maybe they already work, I couldn't tell in the pictures... But if so, I can post some pics from an identical machine.

    Nice job cleaning it up!

Model B is just a certain type of NISHIJIN, I don't know who made up the names of the types, pretty sure it wasn't NISHIJIN. If you look through the posts in the Vintage forum, you can find pictures of the model A, B, and C. There are also stickys in the Vintage Forum. Not trying to sound to uppity here, it is a good question and one I could not answer about a year ago. Now I can tell them apart by looking at the front usually. I'm going to defer to others but think your Sankyo is also considered a model B; there is definitely a later Sankyo version that is different and "improved".

I would love a little wiring guidance I do not have a "fuse block" but I do see that there are wires and bulbs...there is a small connection piece that all 3 wires (red, black, & white) run to and I assume that would have been connected to the fuse block.
My thought was to strip the wires from the connection piece and just wire in a 9volt battery...would that work?

    That would work!

I just used a battery clip, heavy duty battery connector and new 7.5V bulbs - all from Radio Shack.
Red is positive - White is negative - Black is not connected. You can test it out by pushing bare wires into the factory plug before you crimp the wires.
I left the factory plug connected, just because it kind of hold the wires up...
