    Default Pachinko lock modification issue

am trying the Keylock Mod. But when I open up to take out the 2 pan head screws I notice this on the front of the lock Attachment 50841. A plate over the lock and all I can find is one screw at the top of the plate in the back. The outside areas of the frame around that area of the lock there are no areas with screws. It almost looks like I have to unscrew the inner frame from top to bottom.

When I look at the back of the lock it looks like they screwed it in backwards. Instead of the 2 pan screws going in from the back they are going in from the front. Only the Trip Dog screw is in the back. It does show it is a Omron lock and the 2 triangles on the front are facing each other and at the top.

Does anyone else have the Gladiator that can verify theirs in made the same way or any ideas??

Mine looks a little different but if I take out the 5 screws that hold the bracket that the door latch is on it will come right off with the lock and then you can get to the screws easy.

Ok I'll take a look at that but I didn't see any screws from before other than the one I already took out. As you can see the bracket is within the frame. It is almost looking like I'll have to take out the frame to get to it. Nut I bet I am missing something since it shouldn't be this hard just to get the lock out.

Only thing I can guess it that maybe someone replaced the lock and put it in wrong. Unless someone out there that has a Gladiator can look for me and take a few pic.

Here are pics of mine, I got it without a lock installed so I am not sure if anything has been altered but I see remains of double sided tape so perhaps the cover over your lock is just taped down. If you don't see how it can be removed then you can remove the 5 screws that hold the latch to the frame and get to the back of the lock that way.

First 3 pics show the mounting spot and the latching bar, next two are the lock held in the right spot and from the front with the lock in, last two are the lock so you can see the screw holes. Hope this helps.

You are the man Owen. I'll check to see if that is what mine is like. Nice that someone has what I have and pics.

Also noticed my cell has shifted downward on the right side a bit making it harder to open from the front. I am going to have to see about that too.

Owen a genius to the core (hahah) It was held on with double sided tape. I didn't want to force anything before and break something. Once I put a screwdriver in and gently pulled I heard the tap pull away and knew it was just that tape and not screwed down.

Done. works just like said it would very easy. Didn't need to even break the tabs I just had a small precision flat head screw driver (e.g. for glasses or watches), and a hammer and the plate popped right off. No dremel needed.

Great! glad to hear it worked, the lock in the pictures is the one I just pulled the pins out of as it was stuck in the locked position, it looks like it was a security pin that had froze it up due to someone trying to pick it. I plan on installing it in the Gladiator if I can fined-make a lever that works the mech.
