    Default vintage sanyo

    Hi,
New to Pachitalk - looks like a cool site. Trying to restore a 1963 Sanyo I had since I was a kid. Things dirty, but still in pretty good shape, considering. The game looks like it should have 2 sheets of glass in the door, and there is a metal frame that nails onto the outside of the door - looks like it's supposed to hold something in place against the glass. Did they use to use plexiglass over the glass?
If this is confusing, I can take some pics, or if someone has pics to show the way theirs looks - please send them.
    Thanks,
    Rocky

    Welcome to Pachitalk.

We would love to see pictures of your machine. (no matter the condition) Pictures are our #1 form of payment for our knowledge.

Anyways. Yes there was originally glass in both slots. It is up to you on what you like best. Some people like the glass because they like to hear the ball tapping it. Other like plexi because it is quieter. You can even do a glass plexi combo. Put glass in one slot and plexi in the other. (that is what I do.) If you have kids that are going to be playing it I'd suggest you use plexi.

    Once again Welcome to Pachitalk!

Welcome to PachiTalk, Rocky! We are thrilled to have you as our newest member!

In the parlors, Pachinko machines of that era had two pieces of glass to help prevent patrons from using magnetic rings to manipulate the balls. For personal use, one sheet of glass or Plexi is all that you need. Make sure it is installed in the slot closest to the brass nails so that it will keep the balls moving properly. As for the metal frame that nails onto the outside of the door, I'm not sure what that is. Please post a picture and we will help you along. A picture is worth a thousand words!

Again, welcome to our community. No question is too stupid or basic on this site, so please feel free to ask as many as you need to. Please visit us daily and post often.

    Thanks for the welcome!
Here's a few pics without the glass and trim on the front, and the back is still uncleaned.
I have only a handful of the original steel balls left (used them for a slingshot when I was around 10). Anyone know if all replacement balls are created equal?

    nice looking machine.

all pachinko balls are the same (almost) just a note when buying only buy them if the seller says they have been cleaned and when they are in batches of 250, 500, 1000, 2000. any lots not those sizes are rip offs. thing to keep in mind when buying balls try to make sure they are at most $0.06 each once shipped.

If you have any questions just ask.

The more balls you purchase, the less expensive the "per ball" price is. I buy them in lots of 4,000 and get them for about .04 cents per ball after shipping is calculated in. If you buy a lot of 500 balls, then I would expect to pay .06 cents per ball after shipping. There are many reputable sellers for Pachinko balls on eBay, and some are members here on PachiTalk. As mentioned above, I also use goldenstatetraders1 on eBay, and I have never had a bad experience. Walter is an honest and ethical seller and his prices are fair!!

Very nice machine! The back is exactly like my bad cell Taisei.singleball 002.jpg My wiring has been hacked.single ball spiderman 019.jpg single ball spiderman 018.jpgI could wing it...but a couple of pics, with camera set on macro, of the switches and wiring would be way cool. The only difference between new and old balls is the engravings were deeper and wider than new, and usually filled with white paint. the new balls function perfectly. Aside from brass vs stainless steel. and a reset button for the jackpot seesaw, they look like twins from the back!

Since no one gave the specs, they are 11mm 5g steel balls if you were curious.

Also, the triangular sticker is a manufacture tag, not an expiration sticker, so it should be a 1964 machine. The circular expiration tag should verify this by indicating Showa 40.
