That one is very similar to the 1953 Sumire machine that I repaired for an elderly gentleman who bought his in 1955 while stationed in Japan. Both machines have an interesting design with the losing ball tracks, and the flipper handle finger rest has a wide plastic piece for finger comfort. I wish the seller posted pics of the back.

Interesting machine, but not worth $500 IMHO.

If he wants $500 the least he could do was post some more pictures. : groan: (And some better ones at that. Why can't people find how to use a macro mode? )

Very interesting though. But it seems too basic for me.

Where do these sellers get their pricing ideas for these machines? It would have to be an extra special modern to dish out that kind of $$$

I wouldn't ever pay more than $250 for a single shot. (unless I see a really cool one that I have to have.)

This machine is not a single shot, it is a very early multi ball. Note the aluminum tray! I believe the early laws made them switch back and forth. If I am not mistaken thus one MIGHT be considered rare. I would love to have it...but couldn't justify more than $200 plus shipping.

you couldn't give me a modern nor would i have paid what mxfaiman just sold his two for, his many hours of restoration work aside. those machines are everywhere. i wouldn't pay 500 that for the singe shot but i'd make a decent offer if i were interested. in any case, that looks to be rare piece of pachinko history and may be more interesting than first assumed as evidenced by subsquent posts.

no use in quantifying why people sell what they do for the amount they do. as long as there's one bidder, then the effort was worth it. the seller may know that it won't sell for that price but will likely get several offers after auction close which is what he may have wanted from the get-go. millions of ebayers out there.

I asked for pics of the back 2 days ago...no answer. You would think, if you are asking for $500...you would answer ALL mail about it!

Nope they are the typical flaky CL seller that decided to list it on ebay because they thought they could get more money for it.

Oddly it got bids up to $202.50..Not sure why people bid if they weren't going to bid the full 500..

I forgot to top $202.50 just before ending. I remembered at 2am. My thought is...If 500 was a wish grab, and he hoped others would fufill his wish: and didn't...maybe he would be more realistic and offer a 2nd chance to the highest bidder. Won't know now.
