Newbie - Picked up a Slotter Kintaro - Need manual and to turn the VOLUME down

Great site!

I picked up a Slotter Kintaro over the holidays - my very first Pinchislo!
It is really cool - nice and bright - works great and makes lots of loud sounds!

After reader through some threads here and several other internet searches, I was able to locate the volume control inside the machine. It made no difference in the volume no matter how this slider is set (3 positions).

I then purchased/installed (1 for each speaker) 500k ohms/0.2 watts/37 detents/20% tolerance/with push switch potentiometers from Radio Shack. I installed these "in-line" on the (+) wire of each speaker. These new "pots" do not turn down the volume at all... maybe not the correct part/specs? As I turn these knobs to the right, I get no sound... keep turning and no sound - then all the sudden (when know is almost turned all of the way up) - I go one more "detent" and it is back to the original loud volume. Any ideas?
This machine also has the "buzz" coming out of the speakers - i think because they are turned up so loud.

Also I am searching for a manual and/or user guide for this machine. As someone mentioned in this forum, everything on this particular machine is written in Japanese... so real tough to figure out anything.

make sure your volume on machine is set at lowest before installing pots

i've used cotton balls in front of speakers on a lot of machines to lower volume, it doesn't seem to damage speakers or distort sound

you used pots with way to much resistance. You want to use about a 50 or 60 ohm pots to get any range of control
