Guess it's time to check in again, gee, it's only been about 11 years! Work & life have kept me very busy, just found some time to start a cleaning and trying my had at a restoration of my Nishijin Model A bowling alley machine. Thanks to this site and YouTube for pointers, I've got the entire back of the machine disassembled and working on polishing and cleaning now. Took as much of the front apart as I was comfortable with and cleaned and polished all the chrome and metal parts. Ordered some replacement rubber parts, led lamps and engraved balls, mine got a little rusty because I forgot to put them away in a sealed container, left them in the machine, won't do that again. Soaked them in CLR, then tumbled them with walnut shells and chrome polish, they look OK, but the chrome didn't survive. Like most machines I've come across, my play field has minor water stains, if I was more bold at this resto I'd try to replace it, but it's OK for now.
