Default All I want for Christmas...

My Stepson and his Wife had there first child this year...

My first and best gift I could do was a nice toybox.. It took me allot longer then i thought i would to complete it... but i finished it a month or so back..

    just wanted to share...

its 39 inches wide 19 inches tall and 19 inches deep... made from 100% solid Oak no plywood hear.. (plywood would have been allot easier) The plans are for it to work and a foot board on a twin size bed..

the lid opens all the way to a 90 degree open but has stopers to keep the lid open at any height.. (to keep little finges from geting smashed)

this is my second attempt at a box and I'm really pleased with its finish..

Now all he needs are a few Mopar Hot Wheels to put in it

Very nice! Useful now, and for a lifetime!

One day he'll be telling his grandkids about the chest his grandpa made for him.

    Thanks for sharing!

Excellent job, Mopar. I still have the toy chest my dad made for my brother and I when I was 3 years old. I plan to pass it along to my grandkids someday.

Nice woodworking moparformances. Oak is very hard to work with, the open grain and texture can sure dull saw blades in a hurry and burn the cutting. very nice you should be proud.
