    Default My cabinet...work in progress

If you make plans, you eventually need to start executing them... And that's exactly what I did
Here are some pictures of the work in progress on my previous plans
My workplace: (it doubles as a garage when I'm not working in it )
    DSC00317.jpg
Using the previous machine, you can cut wood so it ends up like:
    DSC00318.jpg
After applying a bunch of screws to these makes:
    DSC00326.jpgDSC00327.jpg
And another little picture to show how it will look will some chairs in front:
    DSC00328.jpg

So that's it for the support that needs to hold my machines, when I have more time, I'm adding the 18mm (~ 0.7 ") plywood board on top of this, then I can start the upper parts

Very impressive! I am just starting to think about building a shelf/stand in my basement to hold five machines, and your pictures are very helpful!! Please do keep them coming. I can't wait to see what the finished project looks like.

Great planning and construction. Keep the pics coming on the progress. My biggest problem in building is planning,I just go for it and usually end up building a boat in a basement problem.

I never have plans... i have started wood turning as a side hobby.. its great but i just chuck up a hunk of wood and start turning.. im sure theres a bowl in there somewhere.. and there always is..

I have built a few toy boxes as well.. (just finished one the other day) no plans nothing, just start cuting and glueing it up.. i try and make the scale look right in my minds eye but i have never writen a plan out.. Dont know why i dont

    Update:
I've been working on this thing and can post a few more picture of my work in progress.
First is a picture of my tools and setup while i'm busy milling away some wood for my 90° connectors to fit it, so they don't obstruct the pachinko
    DSC00329.jpg
Next picture is cleaned up, all pieces done.
    DSC00330.jpg
Final picture show how the connectors will be when installed.
    DSC00331.jpg

Next time: I don't know yet, but I'm posting when I remember to take pictures of it... so just wait and see.

Very quick update on my progress of the day:
Added 2 cabinet mounts, 1 is complete with diagonal supports in place.
Pachinko is a really tight fit... I was trying to keep 1 mm spacing, but it got lost somewhere between planning and execution...

i Find there is about 4 mm variation in frame sized... something to keep in mind if your planing on moving machines around

I really hope it doesn't occur with any of the machine I buy...
The 4 I had laying around measured all the same...
80.9 cm high, 52 cm wide...

The cabinets I have built have about 3/8th's gap all the way around so I can square up the wood frame of the pachinko's so the doors open and close with ease, and can be leveled both vertical and horizontally. Then I add some trim around the opening.

    Until now, they fit
If I can keep up this rate, by the end of the week they should all be standing

Do you have ideas yet as to the spent balls that go out the bottom. Just curious. That is going well in the room,a very nice design.

I was planning to make a 4 cm tube under the 'waste' hole, then lead the balls to the back (wall) and catch them in a gutter sloping towards the left side to a reservoir that can hold all my balls. From there on they can be lifted to the top again.
Quite possibly I will need to make a hole for the 4cm tube, but nothing a hole saw can't fix

For noise reduction purposes I was thinking of lining all the tubes and gutters from my system with underlay for hardwood floors, it's a kind of rubber with a plastic protection layer. Dampens sound pretty nicely and reduces bouncing...

Different countries use different methods. I'm sure under our floor is a 1/4" foam membrane that gets compressed down with the weight of the wood. 3/4" white oak I think.

They put down this amazing hard maple. I'd love to have more soundproofing tho.
White oak sounds really nice. I prefer very light woods and natural color.
The stuff they laid down in here is very hard and it's all been treated so it's no maintainance.

    I was talking about this:
    http://parquet.quick-step.com/europe...nderfloor.aspx
Quickstep unisound / unisound pro ... 2mm thick, quite good in dampening sounds and evening minor imperfections in the floor.

Now, another update I find it hard to not work on it when you see it advance so nicely
    One with flash, one without
    DSC00341.jpg DSC00342.jpg
7 pachi supports done, still need to saw the diagonal support for when I swing the pachi open.
I don't like to unpack the saw and set it up in the evening after work, so it'll be something for the weekend
