Default Need Part-Model A Front Overflow

If any one has this assembly or at the very least a picture of what it should look like so I can make it. I know I need to make some kind of ball stop it would be nice to see what the whole thing looks like complete.

Sorry, I missed getting the linkage in the photo. It's just a tab that's molded in the back of the seesaw so the counterweighted linkage can tip it.

I can't see my linkage with the cover on...but here is what is broke off and missing.model A seesaws 012.jpgmodel A seesaws 011.jpgmodel A seesaws 010.jpg The 2nd one is fuzzy but you can see what it looks like. It is like a waiting gate. When tray is down... this gate holds the balls back so they don't spill out when the tray tilts down. This plastic one works the same way.model A seesaws 007.jpgmodel A seesaws 006.jpg It would probably work if you couldn't fix yours or find another brass one.model A seesaws 008.jpg you should be able to fix yours if you or someone you know can solder. You probably can fix it be attaching the linkage, and making the gate out of brass and soldering it on. If you want to just fix it with the plastic one...if we think it will fit, let me know. But on a front overflow...I would want a brass one.

I'd take pictures of my FO but it looks the same as Pachiwall's

If yours has the little swing arm bracket on the arm (that goes under the see-saw) just solder it back onto the see-saw. If it is missing the first thing I would try is see if that clear one you have for the model A fits. It should if need be. If you need some dimensions on that part I could always haul out one of my FO and get that info for you.

If you have any further questions feel free to ask

I looked, and the arm is incorrect. It may work...but will probably have clearance issues. As you can see, the arm is straight and close to the back. Therefore I pulled the rivet out with pliers, came out pretty easily. Without the linkage and counterweight, it was east to check fit of the JP tray.Almost all dimensions are correct...except the tail that the linkage connects to.As you can see, it is narrower than the brass one. This should not be a big problem there seems to be a lot of play in the joints. And some creative bending. I'll give you this part if you think it will work. Just send me your address and it's yours. It even comes with original dirt!

While I have been waiting for Pachiwall's part to arrive I have been using the pictures he posted to try to make the repairs. I was able to re-attach the jackpot arm but had trouble attaching the new piece I had to make. Since I am a rookie when it comes to soldering I put the heat on to long and the whole thing fell apart. I was able to rebuild it but it would not work consistently. The new piece alone gave me trouble. If I did not have enough angle it would not go down and if it was too much it would go down but not back up. Once I got that figured out it would only work with a few balls but as the machine loaded up it would stop. I continued to work with the weight issue until finally I got it. It works perfectly now. The pictures I received on this post really helped. I am going to hang on to Pachiwall's part when it comes just in case my repair does not hold. If you ever want it back I can send it to you. Thanks again for all your help. Here is a picture of the repair.

Great job! Too bad you didn't take pics of the progress. Too much heat is indeed a bad thing! Does yours have a layer of clear plastic on the bottom of each run? I haven't checked my front overflow, but my 1st SBC does. I kept trying to polish it...and it wouldn't shine! I think it is so the brass won't oxidize, and interfere with the smooth rolling of the balls. I mention this because, if so they probably melted and could cause ball flow problems. If so scrape them out and polish. I'm surprised your cell is different. I was beginning to think that all FO's had the same 3 clover cell (maybe I should look at Mxfaiman's FO's again). You have more tulips also, and better chrome!front overflow 001.jpg 1 tulip was loose when I got it also...but it was $26! I probably won't ever need that part...If I do, I'll check back. Glad to see you got it working!

one or two of my machines have the same cell as his. And truthfully I don't think any of mine have the clover background. Oh wait I think there is one out of the 4 that does.

I'm gonna get a new 3 clover background from Rival and do my 1st cell replacement sometime after Christmas.

I did have plastic on the bottom and did scrape it out and polish the brass. I wish I took pictures also, I get so caught up working sometimes I forget.

Yeah those are always fun to fix. Actually I have seen one machine that was WAY worse; it was a kyoraku and that balls filled up about half of the back catch panel. (pictures are attached and that thing was on ebay!) Boy the only easy way to fix that is to take the whole thing off. Many of my machines had (and still have) similar jams to yours but they are usually easy to fix.
