Default Neo Planett always says wait

Hello Everyone this is my first post here. I have learned so much already just by reading everyone's experiences with various machines. I myself have various arcade machines and 4 pachislo, Neo Planett,Babel,Virus Shock and Azteca. My question is about the Neo Planett I have just received this machine and it always Has this little bar that says wait and counts down after spinning the reels and will not let you hit any buttons till it counts down and plays this little music. I have noticed this on other machines sometimes but Never like this on every spin and for soo long. Is this Normal on Neo Planett? or is this a Problem and if soo is there an easy fix?
    Thanks

Yamasas have an issue with their joystick, sticking. Have you tried adjusting it while the reels are spinning? Remember that the lights on the buttons will only light up when they are ready to be pressed.

All the machines take some time to "recycle" before going on to the next bet. If you don't give it the time, it will 'warn' you by playing some music or whatever.

My initial thought on your post is that you are getting normal operation. Relax a bit, don't hit the joystick and buttons so quickly between plays. Watch what the machine is doing and feel the "karma."

Yeah I tried adjusting the joy stick I also tried waiting in between bets. it Seems to do this after the joy stick is depressed then it goes into what seems to be a long wait before it will light up the buttons.

"Has this little bar that says wait and counts down after spinning the reels"

So you're getting this wait right after you hit the joystick...
And the reels are spinning when it says wait?

    Thinking out loud here...

    Joystick stuck like Tulsa said?

Or if you're getting this while the reels spin, maybe the reel position sensors aren't picking up good signals from the reels? (check/reseat connetors on reel sensors)

Or those signals aren't making it to the processor board? (check/reseat connector(s) from reel cage to processor)

Also wondering (aloud) if a sticky stop button could cause this?

    Let us know.

OKay so I guess it is not a normal thing for it to be doing then. because it is doing it while the reels are spinning. I will go in there and Check the connectors and see if anything may be loose. This is the first machine I have ever had trouble with I got it from Stealth and every machine I have ever recived from them has been great. in fact when I told them about some of the other things that were wrong with this one they got the parts out to me next day. Another thing I have noticed now that I am thinking here about the reels is that sometimes they all start spinning at the same time and then sometimes they start one at a time starting from the right hand side. Could this also be an indication of something not right in the reels?

Hi, I have just recently acquired my first macine, being the Neo Planett as well. Mine does the same few things that is described here. I think the wait when the reels start to spin, is just to get the reels going for a second or 2 before you start stopping them right away. I've noticed my reels will sometimes delay too or sometimes start all at the same time. Also the 3 reels are never exactly aligned. 1 may be slightly higher or lower than the other. I think its a matter of lubricating the motors that spin the reels will solve that problem. As for the wait symbol, I don't think that is a problem at all, just a feature within the machine.

I don't think there's anything wrong with your reels. Shoot some silicone spray into the joystick, wiggle it a few times. Even this isn't going to cure it forever but it should help product this effect less often. Also, if you have a tendnecy to always press the joystick one way or the other, as in always down to start the reels, press it the other way every now and again.

About the reels not starting at the same time but staring from right to left. Computer syncing them, no reel problem..

I think this is normal for the Neo Planet. Mine does exactly the same thing. So does my Neo Magic Pulsar.

I remember reading someplace that there is actually a law in Japan regulating the minimum time between spins. Apparently this is again one of their strange anti-gambling laws designed to slow down play and thus limit how much you could win or lose over a given period of time. All my machines do something similar to the Neos, but usually it's must music during the delay. I think the wait bar of the neo makes it more noticeable.

If I think about it when I get back in town, I'll try to compare that wait time of the Neo's with the time on the machines next to them.

We have a Neo Planet at the store and it does the same thing, also my Magic Pulsar does it too. This is normal and it's only like for a couple of sec. so relax, sit back, and enjoy your slot, and worry not.

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

That's some good info! I was curious why all the machines make you wait several seconds instead of being able to place bets more quickly. Just one of those things that bugged me. Now it makes sense.

my neo planett playstation 2 software does it too :-)

4.1 second says the glossary of bigbear:
"Wait: The machine takes a wait if you play faster than 4.1sec a game. The Wait Light turns on, and reels do not start spinning during a wait."

Yeah my other machines will do this it will pause for a sec before you can spin the reels if you try and play to fast. But I find it so strange that the Neo PLanett does this after you spin the reels and pauses not alowing you to press the buttons for a few seconds no matter how long you wait in between spins it still does it. I suppose that is just the way the Rom is programed to do it. this is my first Yamasa machine and over all it seems to be a different breed in many aspects. Think I am partial to the Elecos now

It's normal they make you wait a couple of seconds if you're too quick. The Neo PlanetT at least the one I have will get stuck and if you don't tap the joystick will spin for it's 30 seconds and then stop automatically. Every time it's done this, a simple tap of the joystick will bring your button lights on and work properly. That's why I'm saying it's in the joystick.

    Default neo planet wait

the wait is for speed up of the reels so you cant stop them till their ...at...speed
same speed sensor on magic pulsar

Yep that sounds like it. I was noticing when it does that thing where it starts one real at a time that the wait is even longer and I do know these reals spin alot faster than the other machines so that makes perfect sence. I did how ever go through and check out the Joy Stick as was mentioned by Tulsa. Thanks for all the help and input guys this is a Great Forum!

The wait function is for wheel syncronize. The wheels must get up to speed before they can be played. My Neo-Planett takes a little while also, but if you have to wait more than five seconds every time, you may have an issue.

This is how the wheels work...

    - Servo motor (Stepper motor) gets a signal to advance

    - Motor advances... (Electric eye waits for alignment trigger. The eye on the back of the reels gets its beam broken by the tab on the wheel as it passes between the sensors.)

    - Computer records time and procedes to "Step" the motor instead of "Spin" the motor. (The computer knows it has 512 positions, and procedes to walk through each step instead of just telling it to move foreward.)

    - Computer expects the wheel to trigger the eye again in "X" seconds.

    - If the wheel gets there in time, it is up to speed. This tells the computer that it now has control. (The wheel can now be "Placed" or "Set" to a specific alignment to mix up the wheel pictures.)

    - Once all wheels have been "Set" if the machine decide to "Set" them, it will active the "Stop Buttons".

    End of operation...
    *+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Here is what can go wrong...
    1. Motors are worn, (demagnitized) = Not enough power to defeat momentum and extended/erratic wheel motion = Wheel not arriving to sensor in time.

SOLUTION: You have to replace the motor.

    2. IR-Sensor or IR-LED is dieing, (electric noise or surges killed/damaged them) = It can't tell if the wheel is spinning or computer thinks wheel is spinning too fast = erratic wheel spins and poor stopping alignment = long wait time and payout when there shouldn't be, (Wheel was stopped at position "X" but it isn't at position "X", it just thinks it is)

SOLUTION: You have to replace the eye set. (Steal the one from your "Door Reset" latch.)

    3. Motor bearing is dirty, (dust and humidity and corrosion in shaft bearing) = Long wheel spinups, and quicker wheel stops = possible slight misalignments.

SOLUTION: Air spray only, do not use solvents or lubricants. Solvents will melt wires and corrode internal motor parts. Lubricants will end up collecting more dust and humidity faster as the lubricant thickens over time.

    4. Electrical noise interfereing with digital signals, (Bad power supply or noisy power lines or dieing transformers in your florescent lights) = long wait time for wheel spinup and delayed wheel stops, noticably longer = potential computer death due to misoperation and power issues.

SOLUTION: You can use any power bar with surge protection, not lightning protection, and not a power-strip. Lightning protection does not filter noise and power issues and power-strips are just multi-connections without protection. Use a SURGE BAR, or UPS, or ISOLATOR BAR, or UPS-AVR, or LINE CONDITIONER. Replace any noisy supplies, replace any noisy lights. (Use an AM radio tuned to nothing to hear noise. Bring the antenna to the item in question. Unplug the item in question to troubleshoot.)

Don't forget, the wheels are attempting to syncronize with the video... This aplies to "Neo-Planett", "Gold-X God-Game", "Neo-Pulsar", "Neo-Magic", and others

Others here have posted to use a very small amount of silicone on the stepper motors esp to make them quiet. Is that a bad idea?
