    Default Help fix this part?

I was cleaning my Yamasa King Pulsar machine today. Havent used it in about 6 months. When I opened it I noticed that this piece had come disconnected. The machine doesnt work now so Im assuming that this piece is causing the problem. Its located just above the origin of the power cord. The piece is a small white cap with a red center, and it connects to some wiring. The white cap is what fell off from the wire. Is this something that I can fix myself so my machine can work again? Thanks for the help.

looks to be a circuit breaker or fuse holder. Should be an easy fix

it looks like a fuse holder or a circuit breaker to me. Is there an open area under the cap? If so could someone have taken a fuse out?

No one took anything out. No one has touched the machine but me. It looks like it was probably something that was loose for some reason and just fell off or disconnected. Under the cap there is a little plastic point and a tiny spring...that all sticks or fits somehow inside the wire.

i would guess a fuse holder as well... but with a red center it could be a simple push on/off switch... might be broken???

It looks like an on off switch to the transformer. You should be able to bypass it and connect the power cord directly to the transformer. The black wire looks conected to a red lead the white wire is to the switch, from the switch to the top red lead. Just connect the white and top red together and bypass the broken switch. Or take out the broken switch and replace it with a simple toggle switch.

I'd have to agree with yose. It's an on/off switch. Just by pass it and plug your machine into a power strip with an on/ off switch, it will serve the same purpose of that bad switch.

Yes it was a power button. I did what Yose suggested and I cut the bad switch out and replaced it with a new switch and now it works perfectly again.
This brings me to ask another question: Why does my machine have an on/off switch on the console where the reset/odds/settings toggles are, and also this other on/off button that was on the power cord? Do they control 2 different things?

I think when the transformer was added they just happened to use one with the power switch on it. That one would have the same effect as unplugging it or turning off a power strip. Vs. the internal switch being after the transformer may leave something energized (I don't know for sure if anything IS left energized but it could be)

The main switch on the power console turns the machine on and off the switch on the transformer is to turn power off into the transformer. It is not good to leave a transformer on when the machine is off, the transformer can get hot and overheat. Always turn off the transformer when not in use.
