Newgin Modern Pachinko with no lights, sound working, LED works.

Hello all,

I have just purchased my first machine. It is a Newgin machine, looks like from about 2007. The last owner said that it was working fine, then it sat for a year or so before they decided to sell it. When it was plugged in to test all that works is the LED and small red number readout above the LED. It also shoots the balls that are loaded into the upper front tray. It doesnt have any scoring, lights or sound working. When I got it home, I checked all connections and fuses on the rear, then for only a few seconds I had some sound and lights working, then nothing. Not sure what else to do to try to get it going again.

pull the connections apart and check for bent pins and corrosion, sometimes just taking apart and hooking up again some of the connections is all it takes to fix stuff like this

Yes, That was the first thing I did. Plug and unplug all harnesses and check fuses.

open the front glass and drop balls into pockets, see if anything happens then, some pockets will just payout a few balls but at least one should start something happening if it is working.

Check for a reset button on one of the circuit boards ,press and hold it a few seconds and see if that helps.

NEW info...i now think that most things are working except for the perimeter lighting around the playfield. I dropped balls into the pockets individually and things lit up and music played. Any idea how to get the remaining lights going?

they usually only come on during a reach or a bonus.

The cabinet has some lights around the edge of the machine and in the corners of the play field that i cannot seem to get on. It seems that these should be on anytime the machine is turned on.

Like Compirate posted... some lights only come on during a fever or reach... I have a machine that i thought had burnt bulbs.. then when the bonus hit, all hell lite up

has happened to me more than once
