I, too, need a payout hopper motor or motor/drive unit for an Aruze "MAX" machine. I think this is known as the "large LCD" machine. I have tried about ten dealers, all but two are out of business and one is not returning my e-mails, phone call, etc. Parts are extremely difficult to locate. There are several OEM suppliers on line that offer motors that will dimensionally fit, but it appears they want to sell in huge quantities. I do not know whether this machine is 12 volt or 24 volt on the motor circuit. Help. If I find anything, Gregg, I will re-post on here.

if it is jamming intermittently it makes me wonder if you may have some bent or damaged tokens in the machine. I know that bent tokens can jam things up real easy.

It jams with select tokens and "other discs" too. I think it may be in the exit slot where the little cam arm is located, but I can find nothing obvious there either. The motor is more than likely right on the design capacity since these machines operational life is considered two years. There are some replacement gear boxes with motors listed on the web from Chinese manufacturers (dimensions are provided in detail) but I do not know the voltage and the sites appear to be for large volume OEM sales. As an aside, I bought a single motorcycle air filter from a Chinese company on ebay for $10 and it came in the mail from China in less than three weeks - post paid! So it might be possible to obtain a new gearbox with a stronger motor.

It looks like it has been changed before with all that what looks like hot glue all over the wire terminals. You should check those for loose connections.

Also you might try loosening the tension on the roller cam with the adjusting screws. One of my machines was doing that until Iloosened the roller cam.

Thanks! The hot glue looking stuff is silicone sealer (a sort of clear RTV) that is on many of the connections on the machine. It is obnoxious but keeps things tight and keeps out moisture. I don't personally care for the stuff but some circuit board guys use it. i really like the idea of loosening the roller cam, I am especially suspicious of that component. There is a little 3 or 4 mm machine screw (very short length) that is missing from the cam plate mounting and I will replace that. Geoff
