Default POLL: Do You Find My Craigslist Posting Useful??

    Greetings!!

For some time now I have been scanning Craigslist across the U.S. on a daily basis and have been reposting ads for Pachinko machines in this forum, using my own personal criteria to determine what I repost. Since I am a "vintage" guy, I tend to focus most on vintage machines, however I do also post moderns and early moderns when I think the price is good.

For the most part, my selection criteria is simple:
    • For vintage machines I focus most on those that are selling for $50 or less (unless it is something out of the ordinary or something that would be considered as a collectible - i.e. Arrange ball or Power Flash). Next I look at the theme and condition. If the machine is "blah", damaged or missing significant parts, then I skip posting it. If the ad doesn't have a picture, then I generally will not repost it (although sometimes I will contact the seller and request a picture if the ad sounds interesting).
    • When it comes to early moderns, I focus most on those that are priced at $175 or less. I also tend to post all hanemono machines, as there are several PachiTalk members I know of who collect them. With regards to dejipachis (sp?), I do not know of anyone who collects them, so I skip most.
    • For moderns, I am not well versed in them so I seldom know what to post. As a result, I post very few of them because most seem to be overpriced to me. Of the moderns I do post, they are usually collectibles such as Star Wars and the like.
    • What about Pachislo machines you ask? I am a fish out of water with those and do not have them listed in my searchbot, therefore I do not see many Pachislo ads. Sorry.

Here is where you all come in...

What I would like to know from this community is simple: Do you find the ads I repost useful? If so, how can I adjust my selection criteria to "tune out" some of the ads that are considered by you as junk? Also, how can I adjust my selection criterea to include more ads that you would be interested in? What search terms would you suggest I add to my searchbot?

I have both the time and desire to continue 'hunting' for Pachinkos on Craigslist each day and reposting the ads, however I want to make sure that the ads I repost here are useful to others and that I am providing a valuable service to this community, not just spamming you. Please let me know if I should continue, and what changes I can make so the posts are more meaningful to each of you.

    Thanks!

There are so few pachis available here that I really like to keep up to date with the Market over in the USA.

Alhough not in a position, geographically, to take advantage of any of the pachis available, I do enjoy seeing what is around on the secondary Market and the prices they are bringing.

So yes, please keep up the good work, I'm sure members appreciate your posts and have benefited from them.

I enjoy seeing them and look at every one, I don't consider it useful...but fun! Once in a while, I see something that makes me wonder how close it is. Then I have to Google the city to see what state it is in. That is usually when I find it not useful...still fun. My suggestion is: Keep it up! I enjoy looking. Please post what state it is in, if it is almost local...then I can Google it. My preference VINTAGE! The older the better. Keep it up, I like it

Thanks for the encouragement thus far, but are there any changes you all would like me to make regarding my search and selection criteria? I guess that is the main thing I would like to know.

What types of ads should I be reposting?

First off Jeff, I find all the ads you post useful. It helps everyone in the community see what are reasonable offers on machines, what is out there, and where they are mainly located. Your post I find very helpful to myself because I use all those ads to keep track of selling prices on machines that I own or may want to own.

As for your searches I don't think they need to be changed much. But for vintages how about bumping it up to all machines $75 or less.

Keep up the post and thanks for all your help.

You're like an extra eye out there for us. We see whats out there even if we can't get to them ,just for the pricing and condition of the machines is important. Thank you for the watchful eye and keep them coming.

Just a suggestion to help lessen confusion..I like the copied descriptions but people not familiar with this forum can get confused and think these are your machines.. Something that should help is just putting them in quote bubbles..

I find your posts very useful..I may not have any money to buy anything, but I love seeing whats out there and such!!
Its super easy, just one extra click per post..plus if you are saying something and posting the description we can tell when its you talking..

So if you haven't done it before you can do it 2 ways..You can paste then highlight then click the Quote buttonQuote Button.jpg or even easier click the quote buttonQuote Button.jpg first then paste between the quote tags..

It may not help but its worth a try..

Well Jacks to be honest about the whole thing, your post are one of the main reason I get on here, not only to see what out there, where its at, what it is selling for but to also get the knowledge of what types of pachinko there are. I have only been collecting them for about a month now.. I have 4, two of which came from your ads on here... my latest is the Bunny Girl that was selling in SW Springfield Mo. I picked it up tonight.. needed alot of TLC...but it looks and functions great now... there was one brown wire that was cut in half on the back for one of the lights fixed it and it works like a champ.. so YES your posts are very informative so KEEP THEM COMING...I may go broke but please keep posting them...Thanks again.
