    Smile Request a Recipe!!

Feel free to ignore this thread if you think its a dumb idea, but I thought it might be fun if there was a place for people to ask other people for recipe recommendations..

Just found a bag of clams by the side of the road and don't know what to do with them?? Then post here and see if any members have any great clam recipes..

I've seen it happen may times in the SB so why not in a thread??

There may be millions of recipes online, but I don't think anything beats a personal recommendation!!

I found a dead elephant on the side of the road. Does anyone have a recipe for Elephant Stew?

In all seriousness, I think ithis thread is a great idea as I do see lots of food conversations and recommendations in the shout box.

    I have a request!

I throw weekly card games in my man cave. I have a hot dog machine that heats the buns and the dogs, but hot dogs are getting old. I'm looking for an alternative snack. Here's what I don't want... Buffalo wings, or something similar (sticky, messy). I don't want some slob licking BBQ sauce off their fingers while they're handling cards. Also, I need something I can bring or make up in the cave. I don't have a kitchen up there, but I can bring up a slow cooker, or portable electric grill, or a toaster oven. What I'd like to avoid is an elaborate recipe I have to make in the kitchen and then bring up there. The kitchen is a long way from the man cave and the whole idea of the man cave is so the wife doesn't have to deal with cleaning house, etc. She's fine with me playing all the games I want as long as I confine myself to the garage and the man cave.

Any ideas? I love trying out new things instead of the traditional American fare. So I'm hoping some of you on the other side of the planet may have some ideas for me!

if you have a crock pot well then the sky is the limit. you could have chili or lamb stew or bbq pork roast. meatballs to munch on. (all use paperplates and forks.

A neighbor uses a crockpot for his games. Mostly meatballs and such. I'm trying to stay a little cleaner as cleaning off the felt is a pain. Something like sandwiches or veggies, but I don't want to be boring. Melted cheese is ok, but I'm not to keen on getting into dripping meatball sandwiches and so on.

It has to be something small, too. Putting a big plate in front of someone gets in the way. The hot dogs worked because I wrapped them in a sleeve. People prepared their own and they weren't so large they got in the way. Ginos Pizza Rolls are popular, too. But I switch to plastic cards and lots of napkins because they're greasy.

I have what i would say is the best recipe for Elephant stew in the world.
It was passed down from my Great Grandmother, She was in charge of all Elephant captures in Nottingham's Sherwood forest
    years ago.
She was so good that today there are no wild Elephants in Nottingham.
Sadly Jeff her recipe uses two Elephants,I suggest you stick the one you found in the freezer and go look for another one.
    Best of luck Derek

I got half an elephant in my freezer. It might have a little freezer burn you'll have to cut out, but it's yours if you want it.

Looks like we are up to one and a half Elephants for my Granny's stew recipe.
My mum says if she was short of Elephant meat that you could mix it with rabbit meat 50/50
    one Elephant and one Rabbit.

I have a recipe that we made yesterday for our Halloween party which everybody raved about.
Basically a lunchmeat roll-up, the original recipe I saw called for pastrami but I really don't care for pastrami so we used Polish ham. Or you can use whatever sliced meat that you like better.
Get some fresh asparagus, your favorite lunchmeat, sliced provolone or mozzarella cheese and some pesto (sold in jars in the Italian section of the store)
Cook the asparagus in boiling water for a few minutes until tender, spread some pesto on a stalk of asparagus, roll that up in a slice of cheese and then roll that in a slice of meat...repeat.
You can leave it whole or you can cut it into smaller bite size pieces like we did...hold them together with toothpick.
They were all gone in a flash last night and everybody complimented us on them.
Pretty simple recipe but really good.

    Baked Spaghetti

In a sauce pan put some Italian sausages, Veal, and meatballs. (or whatever meat you have left over works well. )
add sauce and simmer all day, best in a crock pot

make the spaghetti. Drain . Put a serving on a plate and cover with the meat sauce. top with Mozzarella. place in oven till cheese is melted. Its awesome!!
