    Default Adjustable Tulip?

When I first got my machine the center tulip wasn't the same on both sides. Unlike the others this one had metal tabs on the sides. If I bent it out it brought the tulip up and when I pushed it in it came down. When I pushed it straight up it actually made the tulip flat. I decided to leave it like this because I like the way it plays. It does catch balls like a normal tulip but with it flat balls fly through and since the tulip lines up with the pins it acts like a guide. I don't know if this was even the purpose of this but I thought it was odd the other tulips did not have this. This is my only machine so I have nothing to compare to.

bending the arms will adjsut the way it open but having it flat like that would make it verry easy to jam up with more then one ball at a time hiting it..

also having it so flat might make it more likely to get broken by a ball hiting the tip and snaping it off.. but thats just my thought

My tulip was actually jamming all the time when it was adjusted up, that is how I ended up with it flat. It has been that way for a month and has worked perfectly. Hopefully it does not break. Have you seen a tulip that you can adjust, this still puzzles me?

That is very interesting. I'm sure I have seen a tuilp with those tabs on it. It is just I have never played with them. Very clever design.

    100 machines and counting...

yes i have sen them... but have never seen anyone adjust them in the way you have... they should be spread enought for a ball to pass threw and allow the tulip to open and close..

I find they often need minor adjustments to work correctly. Just a slight bend up or down (which ever is called for) normally makes them work great again.

That is exactly what happened with mine. I kept moving until it worked perfectly and it has been fine ever since.
