Default Taiyo 'Gold Line' Challenge Ball Machine

As I mentioned in another thread here recently, I **finally** became a member of the Arrangeball Owners group this week when I found this Taiyo Electron "Gold Line" Challenge Ball machine on Craigslist (it was part of an Estate Sale). The machine was very well cared for and most of the electronics had been "shopped" by the previous owner, and it seems to work perfectly. There are some new/modern circuit boards installed, lots of new soldering, and all new lights. He also left some documentation inside the machine, as well as several spare parts he had left over after working on it and about 50-60 tokens of all varieties, including some from Pachinko parlors. The machine plays well and pays out as expected.

The cabinet that came with it is custom built and quite elaborate/intricate, however I am a purist so I plan to remove it from the cabinet and display it on it's own. The only thing it needs at this point is a good cleaning and polishing.

Thank you to the PT members who have already reached out to me via PM to educate me about these machines and address my many questions. I'm having a blast playing and learning about it!!

very interesting and cool that someone took the time to care for it and modify it for US current.
so how does the lower circular number display work? is it just an additional indicator of those lit numbers with it's own payout or does it "spin", etc?

If I get all of the numbers in the circle lit, then it pays out 10 tokens (the 3 and the 6 are hard to get, and there is no spinning action). In the center of the rectangle are four numbers: 6,7,10,11. If I get those to light up, then I win four tokens.

A center four payout seems to be universal among arrange ball machines but usually the payout is just 3. Looks like a very fun machine.

You may be right. I am still new at this and I thought it was four, but I am not sure. I only had about 30 minutes with it last night to snap the photos and play/test it a bit.

Cool Re: Taiyo 'Gold Line' Challenge Ball Machine

I am having a LOT of fun with this new-to-me machine and can now see why some members stop at nothing to collect them! Very addicting, particularly when you fill the machine with quarters instead of tokens. I also found you can change the odds by increasing the number of Pachinko balls from 16 to 22, which I found made the machine somewhat "loose". (I am guessing that the parlors only supplied 16 balls for these machines? )

@emmadog: I have posted a pic of the instruction card with hopes that your friend can translate it for me. I have figured out most of the game play, however I am unsure what happens when you get a ball in the "8" pocket - there is something written about it on the upper right.

Try the new gold dollars. Makes it even more interesting. I have gotton machines that have had 24 balls in them. Standard play is 16 and it just makes it easier to win with more balls. I have adjusted the nails in my tight machines and leave them at 16. On my machine that has the circle it pays eight if you get them all and it pays one for four in a row, two for five in a row and three for six in a row and four for seven in a row. Does not matter what four just so they are connecting. Enjoyl.

You're right about the addictive qualities of arrangeball machines. Winning coins and having to shoot for certain pockets instead of just any pocket add to the appeal. Makes winning balls pale in comparison and why I eventually got rid of all my traditional vintages although I do at times miss my T-Bird powerflash and Power Roulette.I emailed the pic to the translator so stand by for the results.

Here ya go:How to Play (Gold Line)1 point, 2 points, 3 points, Maximum Scoring, Heaven Chucker #8 Lit*Put in a medal and 16 balls are dispensed.*A medal is released when a ball enters a chucker.*Gold LineWhen all Gold Line lamps are lit, the set number of medals awarded for maximum scoring is dispensed.*Balls that enter the R Mark can be hit again.*Pressing the settling accounts button during the game will result in Game Out.- it sounds like from this translation that the max amount paid out may be changed as some machines are.

Jeff, PM me ur email and I'll send you the file. It matches the original score card layout better than the version above.
