Im given up the sounds are just too loud. Which volume control type is the best and how do i install it. If you can provide links. I want to do this volume mod to 3 of my machines. I also want something that is going to have no negative effect on my machines.

I did L-pads on three machines and switched to doing the Syscom pots. MUCH easier to do and still do the job. The L-pads are nice because you can change volume, but in general, I don't change the volume once it is set where I'm comfortable. The pot controllers can be installed in minutes with very little work.

If the cotton balls don't do it.
I got some nice controls from Milt, I think they are pots, one wire cut install, and they are of a nice small size that they fit alomst everywhere. Milt's crew had put them in my Speed racer, Gung Gung, and I put one in my King Camel and the boss's Silver n Gold. They do a nice job, and he even has the wires already soldered to them, snip, strip, wire nut, done.

i used fixed resistors (1.5k 10watt) on the top piezio speakers(l-pad distorts the sound from them) on the fire drift and a l-pad on the lower. since you are so close to milt go pic up 3 of his pots and put them in line.

10 watt resistors are SERIOUS overkill for piezo tweeters. I have 1/4 watt that I "hid" inside shrink wrap. It's barely even a bump in the wire.

I have seen several suggestions of using cotton balls. While I have a pretty good idea of how to do this, I'd like to know the best way to use cotton balls without damaging the speakers.

    In front of, or behind?

    Would appreciate all suggestions!

    Thanks y'all!

Quick hint, the sound comes from the front of the speaker...

THere are usually 4 screws holding each speaker in place remove 2, loosen 2 pull back housing, stuff cotton balls in the opening between speaker and grill. Fill to desired volume then tighten screws.
