I always use the 7.5 volt bulbs from Radio Shack. They are a little brighter and they last a long time. They are in the metal drawers near the back of the store and I think your get 3 in a package for under $2.

Sounds like you have the addiction and we can now initiate you into the club.

As far as which one is next, I suppose it'll depend on what I can find local and for a sweet deal. lol Do you guys find you prefer the vintage machines to the newer digital ones? I haven't looked at many of the newer ones to really make an educated decision, but so far I like the looks of the vintage ones better than the newer ones I think.

I can probably predict what answer you will get by asking that in the vintage forum!!

I will try to balance things out by saying moderns rule!!

Actually all pachis rule, even the tokeny ones!!

I'll have to jump in too and say that I have modern and vintage pachinko machines in my collection, and okay some pachislos too

As this is the Vintage Forum, you are probably going to get more votes for vintage, but I think everyone should at least try out a modern or two just to be sure, they do play differently and there are tons of themes out there to choose from,

I don't have space to have all my machines set up to play at once, but I try to have at least one vintage and one modern set up at any one time, vintages are great for those quiet skilful moments, and of course for restoration etc, but if you want a full-on pachi rush, then a modern will do the trick

even the mod's are entilted to there own oppinions... even though there WRONG!!!

Vintage all the way... something about being able to have way more controle of every shot... hearing the clang of the shooter the Pachi of the balls falling threw the nails, and a nice old fashon bell for the winner..

    yep vintage all the way..

and PS no volume controle REQUIRED...

I started out with vintages, then added a few moderns to my collection to see if I liked them. While they were fun to play and pretty "fancy" with all of the lights, video and sounds, I found I much preferred the vintages because they were entirely mechanical and I could take them apart and work on them (which I think I enjoy more than playing them). As far as vintages go, the older 1950's era machines are by far my favorite, as they have a very simplistic design, the back side is made entirely of tin (they sound cool when the balls roll down the tin chutes during a jackpot) and they require a bit if skill and precision to play.

I think you should find and try a Hanemano machine, Dejipachi machine and a modern machine (and even a Pachislo) before you decide which you like best. It is entirely a matter of personal preference.

personally the moderns for me are kinda boring. All you do really is hold the handle and watch the screen. With a vintage there is a little more skill involved so it makes you want to play longer. (sorry no offense on moderns but we all have our opinions.)

The Hanemono machines are really a lot of fun too. I spent some time with TailTrauma this summer and he has a house full of hanemono machines. They have really cool themes and mechanical center features, and are fun to play. I enjoyed them so much that I added one to my collection and am looking for another.

Try one of each before you decide.

Don't forget kenrimono machines..Probably my favorite kind of modern, having to shoot at all the different things to make the other things work!!!Hanemonos and dejipachis are Rad too!! And even though most machines are dejipachis these days, they do still make all three kinds!!

And if vintages are so good then why is the pachinko smiley a modern??

We all have our preferences, the main thing is not to totally rule something out but to keep an open mind, go test some different types out and see what suits YOU

and you know the moderns of today will be the vintages of tomorrow if they continue to evolve

Anyway, I think we all agree that Pachinko 's

I am partial to the vintages, with a particular soft spot for antique,s and any single ball machines. I do, however have a modern... and will be picking up an early modern in just a few minutes!

I started with a vintage when they were modern and have had that machine all my life. I did not get heavy into pachinko until I found the first Evangelion machine. I quickly built a good collection of modern and then started collecting vintage. I have 16 modern and early modern machines and as of now 21 vintage and two that I parted out (to fix the other ones)

I enjoy all of them but find that if I plan on spending a long time playing I sit at a modern but the vintages (what ever ones that happen to be out) get played almost every day, even if it is just a few minutes while waiting for the microwave.

Try as many as you can and you will figure out at some point what floats your boat.

All vintage machines are fun, you can get sucked into some moderns like a good movie or video game and you will drift out 6 hours later tired and happy yet I have also been board out of my mine by some of the moderns I have played.

I also have been avoiding pachislo as I did not think I would enjoy them as much until I was offered too good of a deal to pass up on a machine that is not well liked by most yet I am having a blast with it and plan on trying to find more of them after I start the new job next year so again, try them all.
