Default Heiwa 1977 - Question on seesaw mechanism and parts below

    Hi,

new to Pachiko, picked up a 1977 machine at a thrift shop. I think I have most of it back in working order. The see-saw mechanism is giving me trouble. It will tip to the lower position, but not return to the upper; there is a white tipped bumper mechanism (not sure the technical term) below the see-saw that looks like it should come up to engage the bottom of the see-saw and help tip it back into the upper position. However, I don't see any obvious linkage or trigger to have this bumper engage. Also below the bumper is another mechanism that looks like an upside down P, it appears this is missing a lower wire, but can't see an obvious attachment.

Hoping some one may be able to point me in the right direction, I have been scouring e-bay and Google to try to turn up pictures of working machines but have not been able to fine a clear one with the plastic removed. Hoping some one may have a similar model that could take a pic of, or perhaps help me understand how to engage the bumper

Thank you for the thoughts and advice

Okay let me see if I can help here. winning balls push down on the white plastic part (black arrow) the arm rotates on the pivot (black circle) and the wire will reset the seesaw (red arrow and two red lines showing contact point) you may need to take the seesaw out and clean the pivot point as gunk built up there can cause it to not reset. It could also be missing the counterweight (a ball most of the time) from the left hand side, if after cleaning everything you may need to try adding weight to the left side to help it reset. The white bumper under the seesaw is the manual reset for when the covers are on (yellow line and arrow) you just push up on it. The upside down p is part of the system that stopps balls from loading in the shooter when there are too many winning balls backing up. they press on the piece marked with a green line and push the p with the wire.

Wow, thank you very much that clears up a lot of my confusion. Guess I was over-thinking the connections. When I got the machine the seesaw was off of the pivot and laying on it's side. I substituted a small brad for the pivot pin, I may have set that at an angle that is causing extra friction. I do have balls inside the see-saw, one on each side, I initially tried adding two to the back but that was too much weight; will see if I can straighten out that pin and get some smaller weights if necessary.

Have to admit that I never knew what Pachinko was, nor had I ever seen a machine until I stumbled upon this machine at a thrift shop, looked like an interesting project and it has not disappointed.

Very well said. I had many of those thoughts...but couldn't demonstrate them so well.

Welcome to the hobby! I'm sure this will be your first machine of many, because these things are very addicting!
