Default Building "Recessed" alcove for machine.

My new Aladdin Ace machine is 19 x 32. I would like to mount it so that it is inside the wall. I have an area under the stairwell that is empty space.
The idea is to create an illusion of secrecy to add to the mystique.

    • Who has done this and are there any pics.
    • Size of space; big opening to be able to open door or slide machine out when opening.
    • Standard height?

I did build, what is basically a 2x8 stud wall, to house two machines.

LITERALLY, measured my bride from the floor to her elbow and used that as the height of the center of the shooting handle. Will have to measure it when I get home, if you really need a dimension. I do not know if there is a standard height. I have seen pictures of parlors in Japan with the machines sitting above "bar" height (above 36") and players seated in stools.

I have my machines tilted back at the top about 1-1/8" out of plumb.

The opening was oversized by 3/8" total (3/16" all sides) to allow the machine to slide in, did not use shims, just used screws on the sides (jambs).

Mine is a little different in that it is heavier and has more depth. I don't have to worry about not having enough balls for this. OK, bad pun.

I must not understand the question? You want the pachinko machine in the wall; behind a door? Or is it a pachislo machine?A swinging full size door or a slider? Or not full size door?
