Default Joe (Chicago) - I thought they were "Slot Machines"

Well, a Sammy Aladdin Ace 2002 appeared today out of nowhere. My parents were at a garage sale and thought my kids would have fun with it.

We have always had the old cast iron pull slots in the family but these new electronic ones are a complete mystery to me.
The boys are dying to pump tokens in it but it isn't set up right. The previous owners had it disconnected and I have no clue how to set it up.

From what I have read tonight, this machine has some history. As a new member here I will try to read previous posts before I ask a bunch of repetitive questions.
