Default Wooden Quilts to Benefit Japan Relief

Back in March another forum I belong to announced that they would organize a group project to benefit Japan relief. This relief project began in March shortly after the earthquake and tsunami and the wooden quilts were assembled recently and listed on EBay a few days ago. Global relief efforts for Japan are slowing down, but there is still much need in the country for assistance. We are hoping these three quilts will raise a good amount of funds to help. My contribution is the Japanese Crane jigsaw puzzle on the scroll sawn quilt. It is on the top, second from the right. It was one of my first projects with a scroll saw.

    Wooden quilts

"Wooden quilt made of scroll sawn and woodburned squares lashed together. To benefit the Red Cross relief efforts in Japan after the tsunami March 11, 2011, members of three* message boards and two woodcarving clubs banded together to create 4" by 4" squares, which were assembled into a wooden quilt. Member of the Woodcarving Illustrated, Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts, and Pyrography Online message boards, and two carving clubs, the Loraine (Ohio) County Woodcarvers and the Mississippi Valley Woodcarvers of Bettendorf, Iowa, created the squares. This quilt is mainly scroll sawn with a few woodburned squares. There are seven squares across and seven squares down for a total of 49 squares. Two other quilts are also up for auction right now."
