5:00AM and Irene is here. We got 6 inches of rain in the last 12 hours. Wind gusts are lower than expected with top speeds of 45MPH in my neighborhood. The sump pump is running every 45 seconds!

Irene is over here. We have a lot of people without power. My wife and I are very blessed, our neighborhood is on the same electric circuit as the water treatment plant. We lost power 6 times during the storm but it was retored usually within 15 minutes each time. We were without power for about an hour during the worst of it. There is a lot of debris to clean up but not much damage. I am sure it was much worse closer to the shore.
