    Default Early 1950's Sumire Pachinko

I thought I would post pictures of this neat old Pachinko machine I am working on. I'm not doing any major work to it; just adjusting the mechanics on the back so that it pays out jackpots and the balls do not jam up, as well as replace the glass with Plexi. The owner of this machine bought it from a parlour when he was stationed in Japan back in 1955, and he thinks it was 1-2 years old at the time. He has had it ever since and his grandkids like to play with it when they come to visit.

The machine is in great condition overall for its age, and something that I thought was really cool was that it has not one, but two jackpot seesaws. There is the usual one for all the jackpots that are won, as well as an upper jackpot seesaw that releases a second ball into the lower jackpot seesaw when you get a ball in the top win pocket, effectively giving you two jackpots!! Very simple design, but very innovative at the same time.

One thing that has me stumped is the long wire on the back that is hanging from the upper ball path - it works a trigger for something when the machine is out of balls, but I cannot figure out what it is supposed to connect to. There doesn't seem to be anything for it to connect to. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

    Jeff

I wish I could ave this one for my collection. Yes- I will create a video. I think it is important to document the older machines as much as possible.

Man that is a cool machine you get to work on there. I like the spinners on it. I have never seen that style back it looks to be super confusing at first. Maybe you could make a trade with the guy. You know I'll keep your machine and you can have this one (make sure it is cleaned and fully functional though.)

    100 machines and counting...

Way,WAY cool! I so love these very old machines. A video, or detailed explanation of how the dual jackpot works would be great!
