Just want to say hi. New here. I have a 1985 (I think) Universal Big Chance (model 8529..I think). I am going to try to get it going again. Although not formally trained in electronics, I have messed with it as a hobby for years. Self trained, I guess. I have restored old (tube) radios and pinball machines for years. Jukeboxes too. I have looked at this Machine and see a few obvious problems. A burnt tantalum capacitor on the reel stop board and a swollen cap on another board mounted on the power supply. I am going to replace those along with the 470uf 50v cap on the reel stop board. I suspect the 470uf cap shorted and fried the little 1uf cap. I have checked all the AC voltages coming off the power supply and they seem to be close. Anyway, I will start another thread in the appropriate forum. I will need some help!
