Default Arepachi help for part needed.

I bought an arepachi in California about a year ago that I call the Owl. It was a taiyo electron and I had probems with it from the start. It would pay and play and then it would quit registering the lights and do nothing. A little tap on the computer board and it would play and pay for a game or two. Emmadog put his owl machine up and AcMech won it. He got it going right and I corresponded with him and after alot of money spent here { two different shops with no results} I decided to ship it to him figuring that with the two side by side he could maybe accomplish something. Well thanks to AcMech it now works. The only problem is that when the game is over you can push the payout button and be paid or you are suppose to be able to drop another coin and it will pay the winnnings. It pays and plays right if you push the payout button but if you drop a coin it just resets another game. AcMech is on vacation and I took the part down to a shop here but with no number on the transistor nobody want to venture a guess what transistor to put in the machine. I certainly do not want to cause a problem with the main board but would like to have the machine working 100 %. The transistor i am talking about is the lower one next to the american writing. Any help would be appreciated.

AcMech tested the transistor and stated he thought the bottom transistor was the problem.

I guess you would need too know the volatges and currents involved to find the right one also NPN or PNP. I guess you could monitor the inputs and outputs to narrow what kind of TO92 it is

Well that is way beyond me. I will wait to AcMech gets back home. He knows what his is doing maybe he can figure it out. He sure did wonders with the rest of my machine.

If Acmech tested it. He should know which pins are positive and negative. I'm sure he'll guide you in the right direction

He should be able too. His machine is almost a match to mine.

See if u can identify any markings on it. If so, google search images for transistors then compare. I did just that for my Owl.

Well I really do not know what to think now. I was playing the machine and it started working like it was suppose to. With the board out. The only thing I can figure is maybe that board was made for the parlor??? Needless to say I think I will leave it alone for now.

If it is intermittent check for a cold solder joint on the board. Any suspect joints should have all the solder removed using solder wick and replaced with some additional flux to help clean the component leads. Just be careful with prolonged heat on the transistors and circuit board.

i also noticed that the board contacts are a bit dirty and can be cleaned with a soft pencil eraser head.
