Default My new acquisition, and a couple of questions...

I had a great craigslist garage sale find today... a 2003 Yamasa Neo Magic Pulsar Type A and nearly 1,000 tokens for $60! It's a pretty neat machine with holographic overlays over the reels.

I don't have a manual for it, and I have a couple of questions.

    1) how do I adjust the payout rates? It's currently in "1" mode, which I think means the lowest payout rate.
    2) The lock is broken on this machine, and the previous owner wedged the lock release in the open position. I have the key, but it doesn't turn the cylinder. It's either the wrong key or the lock cylinder is broken. I've removed the lock assembly so I can open the machine without needing to reach inside to trip it, but I need a new lock. Where can I obtain one?
    3) Is it possible to set the machine to always pay out tokens instead of credits? My daughter gets a kick out of tokens, but finds credits much less exciting.

I saw that one on ebay... when you subtract the value of the tokens, that lock set more than doubles what I paid for the machine!

hear is the reset and odds change

    In order to change odds,
machine must be in idle mode with no tokens or credits
    being
played. Locate internal toggle switch (red tipped or silver with on/off
    tabs)
or insert key into internal key switch (if your machine came with 2
    keys).
Machine must be turned OFF. Turn key clockwise or flip reset toggle
    switch to
the "ON" or "ODDS" position. Turn main power switch ON to
    access
    programming mode.

A number from 1 to 6 will be
displayed on the CREDIT meter on the front door or
on a display inside the door. Locate
the reset button. This will be
    located on
your power supply. On SAMMY brand models, the button is on the
    inside of the
    door only.
Depress the button and notice movement of number
    being displayed on the
credit meter. Once the desired level is displayed (1
to 6) pull "spin reels" handle
(black or red knob on front door) down, like
you are going to spin the reels, to
lock odds level into machine memory. Turn
key switch back or flip toggle to
"OFF" or "PLAY" position. Machine should
    immediately initialize. You will know
the machine initialized if the "Insert
Medal" light starts flashing. If not, make sure
    you remembered to press down
    the "SPIN REELS" lever.
If it still doesn't initialize, turn power to the OFF
    position, wait 15 seconds and
turn power switch back to ON position.

the only way for the machine to pay out every win is to keep the credits at 50 total... any wins over 50 will pay out..

Thanks Mopar. That's how my other machine adjusts. On this one, the reset button doesn't seem to do anything. On the inside of the door there's a small button and an old fashioned LED (think old digital clock) that displays the #1, just like the credit window does. But I can't get it to change...

Figured out the payout setting. Now it's just a question of how to get it to payout tokens only... and finding a lock.

On my two machines I just hit the coin return button after I have no credits and it will make the credit "0" disappear and it will only take 3 tokens and if you win it will payout and if you want to reverse it just do the process again but this time you will see the "0" and it will then hold 50 credits. As for the lock just depin it and you can use the key it came with no need to buy another lock. Just don't tell no one.
