If you fill the hopper and drop a ball in one of the win pockets, does it payout?(some pockets may only pay out a few balls) Please post some pics of the rear sections and maybe one of us can help steer you in the right direction.

Just to check back in, I never did get this working...will be trying to re-solder some of the points on the board soon...But if the above post is directed at me..then yes it pays out. Machine works just fine except for the sound.

I have a Happy Pochi that may have similar connections. does the back look like this one?

Yes it's almost the same as far as the connections go minus the silver canister on the left side and the metal cover over the boards, on my machine it's a clear plastic cover...I'm looking for a photo of the area where the ribbons from the board near the center feature connect.
