    Default Shopping Mall Japan

I thought I'd try out Shopping Mall Japan for my next purchase. There fees are less than Japamart. So far it's not going well. I set up the account then had to place a manual bid. That was 2 days ago, the auction (it's a BIN) ends in 3 hours and they still haven't bid!! I've now sent them 2 emails and still no action.

Japamart placed my last bid in under 2 hours.

Has anyone else used them and found there a bit slow?

The auction ended without my bid. I guess it wasn't meant to be this time. I'll be getting my deposit back and I'll use Japamart in the future.

They say there system was blocking bids from this seller. Really!

Anyway they have refunded by deposit. The item didn't sell so hopefully it will be relisted so I can use Kiai or Japamart.

I have used SMJ for most of my purchases, Never had a problem before, But never done a BIN option as always auctions.
Although it is true. Some sellers on YJA do have an automatic block on deputy bidding services.

Some good news on this one. The cell was re listed and this time the bid was placed quickly. I did however send SMJ an email to let them know I had placed a manual bid.

The bid was placed with there regular user name so I do think they just didn't get round to placing the bid last time.

I'll post the pricing when I know the total cost to see how they compare with Japamart.

The final bill for shipping is in.

    Cell cost = 5800yen, $73.32

Item, internal ship and fees = 117-000
Shipping to US by boat = $94.60
    Total $211.60

The difference in cost between the cell I got using Japamart and SMJ was $37.10 the difference between the totals was $55.91.

The problem with SMJ is that they don't beak down the costs you simply get 2 bills one for when the item is shipped to them then another to get the item shipped to you so you can't really see what is fees and what isn't. Japamart give you a clear beak down so you know exactly what are fees and what isn't. It also took SMJ 2 weeks to ship the item once they had received it. Japamart took a few days. I would say Japamart certainly have there act together both in the presentation of there site and the timely manor they do business. Cost wise it's hard to say if one is cheaper than the other as SMJ don't itemize there bills. The shipping was more with SJM but then the cell could well be heavier as it is a newer cell.

After this test on both companies I think I'll be using Japamart again in the future for all my YJA dealings.

    Got my invoice from SMJ.
What sort of breakdown do Japamart give
I get winning bid amount, exchange rate, internal shipping, commission and wire fees, Then total amount in USD

Then a seperate invoice for $100 for shipping from Japan to the UK I'm guessing it must be a 12Kg package
