Default Nishijin Model B Leaf Switch Replacement?

Does anyone know of a good Nishijin - Model B - Leaf replacement switch?

Maybe something that would fit on same mounting posts? Of course, on the shelf at Radio Shack would be nice too...

I have not found anything that fits "exact" yet, and I have been searching for quite a while. I have either been repairing the leaf switches (when the wires come loose), or I replace them from a parts machine. It would be nice if we had a source for the same sizes and types of leaf switches (there are several) used on these older machines.

I have a few that can't be repaired (missing leaf, mangled to the point that they will never work right) and others that are missing all together so if that is the issue then replacement is the only option

Guessing there is a thread about resoldering? I'll search when I get back to a real computer and not this iPod...

Thought the solder gun would melt the plastic and didn't see how to get the leaf out without making a mess...

you can usually use any leaf switch and bend it to work. surplus stores often carry an assortment of sizes. alternatively, you could replace the leaf with a micro switch and it's more reliable over time - no oxidation.

here was the post about a parts source

the iron will melt the plastic..

i pull the Leif's out of the plastic punch a hole thew the metal and lace the wire threw the hole and re solder.. that way i get a good connection that will never pull out.. straighten out each part and then reseat the leif.. then use my soldering iron to melt the plastic to hold it back in place again.. it take some time and a bit ot trial and error but works like new again

I bought this Solder Iron kit at Radio Shack and I use the "hook" tip and low temp soldering paste to repair the leaf switches:

    http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=4314833#

The hook tip is the perfect size and angle to get into the back of the leaf switches without melting all of the plastic, and the low temp soldering paste (plumbing isle at Lowes) melts/adheres quickly.
