    Default Williams Hyperball

Picked up a 1981 Williams Hyperball a few weeks back. It was pretty much dead when I got it. A whole lot of diagnostic and fix work later, it is ALIIIIVVEE! (Fix details on the video.)

I made it to the RMPS this year. Much fun, sorry I missed you guys! JACKSJE4, I got asked if I was you when I told somebody my Pachi count.

That's a very cool game and congrats on getting it up and running. It's a great feeling bringing them back to life. I just spent about 10 or so hours undoing and fixing mods and problems on a 65 GTB Flipper Pool. Been playing all morning.
Anyway, your Hyperball uses some of the same sound effects from two of my favorite Williams games from the 80's- Defender and Stargate.
I may have to pick up a Hyperball now, I had no idea that's how the game play was. Thanks for the vid.

Thanks! I love fixing these things. Probably an indication of a sick mind that it was a selling point that it didn't work.

I had never played one of these before, either. The gameplay is kind of a mashup of Tempest, pinball, a classic gun game, and a spelling bee. I love the sounds... straight out of the old Williams library: Defender, Robotron, Stargate... loved those games!

Cool pin! I am jealous. After attending the RMPS I really want to add a pin to my game home. So... who thought I was you?? I thought I took care of all the witnesses.

Yeah, I enjoy my pins a lot. I think I like fixing them as much as playing them.

Ha! I don't know who it was... just a group of people that I was playing and chatting with. We were talking about our collections, and when I mentioned that I have 25 pachis their jaws dropped and one wanted to know "Are you that pachinko guy? The one that refurbishes machines?" I said "No, but I know him!" They were suitably intimidated... you infamy grows!!!

i replaced mine with a speaker from a old rolling extreme arcade game and now i can full plast the sound and it can be heard thrue the whole hose and sounds crisp and clear where with the og speaker it was craking and you only heard the high pitched sounds clear

here is a pic of mine when i got it ill get a pic of it now once i get off work

I remember setting those up new in the shop. That's a nice machine you have there and glad you've got it going!
