Question Need help with a ball jam.

I was playing my "Matrix" when I experienced a ball jam. Usually, I have no problem clearing these, but this one has me stumped. I took out the ball "paths", but I cannot access the black box that I assume the jam is in. I have taken apart as much as I dare, and was able to clear what I could from the top, but I have no success. Any suggestions? Any help appreciated.

Is the black box the ball counter, I don't have that machine, so not sure what it is . Can you shake it while it's upside down to see if a ball falls out. I have used strong magnets before to move balls around in the tracks to dislodge them, maybe try that.

I have not had luck clearing the ball jam out of the ball counter, but in cleaning my machine I noticed some latches and two hinges. I'm not sure, but it looks like the cell can swing out. If I can do this, I might be able to access the ball counter to clean the jam. I haven't been able to find a way to open it...any suggestions?

Just be careful the cell doesn't fall out if you unlatch it..Are there any screws on the black box to take out,to open it up? There should be some way to get into it.

There were two screws on the black box itself, however, it won't come loose. It looks like its part of the backing. I pulled it back as far as I dared, but with all the work I put into this pachi, I didn't want to make it worse. Here's a whole shot photo. You can see the wooden frame to the right and if I gently pull at the top, it's a hand hold and it looks like it swings open...

Maybe the box lifts out , my hyper passion machine has a red button you push above the mech to release it then lift up and out. just a thought.

Maybe Daverob has a frame instructions for this model?

Granted I'm not an expert, but it looks like this unit is pretty unique. It's not like a lumina where I could just swap a cell (I don't think). If he doesn't see this post, I'll reach out.

Nope, it doesn't seem to lift...I still think it opens up somehow...I'm not prepared to disable everything to fix the jam, but I have to believe that when it was in parlor, there was a simpler way to open it for service when it was in a wall... Don't suppose anyone has any contacts overseas that may be familiar with servicing pachinkos...

Yes there has to be a secret to a ball jam as they are quite common. It is just hard to figure out without a service manual. patience and trial and error and stres seem to come with these machines we play. the answer will be found. hang in there.

The jam is in the payout mech. You need to take it apart

That's what I was afraid of. If there's a way to do it, I haven't figured it out yet. It's the same form that the pachi "Superman Returns " used if anyone owns or better yet, can service one and knows how to access the payout, I'd appreciate the help. I even put my pachi on one side then the other trying to unjam it, but no luck. Someday I'll figure it out. I'm not giving up, but until I have some instruction on how to do it, I'm not going to take it apart again and risk hurting it any further. I even have Daverob' cr emulator..when I can fix it.

I am pretty sure it is the black thing that is in your first couple of pics. It will be part of the frame, and not the cell.

Just look at the screws and the way it is connected, and you will eventually learn how to remove it. After you free it from the frame, and disconnect some small connectors, the whole mech will come out as one unit.

I haven't met any frame, from which the payout mech could not be removed fairly easily so take heart

Once you have it out, your work isn't quite over. You see... the mail reason for jams is (you guessed it) dirt. The mech will likely need a good cleaning, but once you have it out - clean it
Even if you clear the jam, if you don't clean it, it will simply jam again.

TAke some clos p snaps of the black part, and maybe I can help you out, don't worry, because we'll get it fixed.

I took a quick movie this morning to show everyone. I apologize if it isn't clear enough, as it was my iPhone.

Hopefully with this quickly shot video and the photos I added before, someone has an idea.

    Thanks for any help...

Do the wire clips lock it in place that are going up the left side of the black box. there might be a hidden tab under the wires.

Also maybe it is a reverse tab that is held in place by snapping it in . Try squeezing the sides to see if it releases the front plate. It has to be in pieces because of the different colors of plastic. They have to slide or snap into each other somehow. pulling the cell seems to complicated, just to clear a ball jam. That ball assembly has to be one of the last parts put in place. maybe the entire ball track has to be removed as one unit and serviced inside out.I am just thinking different ideas.

Nope, nothing hidden by wires, and I trued your suggestion about pressing the sides. No luck. Anything else?

Maybe it slides out to the right, with the machine opened up as far as it will open away from the wooden frame see if there are any hidden tabs. Maybe the cell does have to open to expose the ball mech. This is deffinetly an odd set up.

Did you drain the balls from the top? I can't see any in the queue to the payout mech.

I wonder if the "sun pak" swings out from the back of the cell like on sankyo (and many other) machines and that is how you get to it.Or you may need to swing out and remove the cell, not too hard most of the time and at one point or another I have done it with all my moderns just for the fun of it.
